Alright, so, I’ve been meaning to get my tennis rackets up on the wall for a while now. It’s not just about storage, it’s about, you know, making them a bit of a display piece. I found some old school tennis rackets and thought they would be a great display piece on the wall of my bedroom. So here’s how I went about it.
First off, I needed to figure out what to use to hang them. I mean, I didn’t want to just hammer a nail in and call it a day. Browsed around a bit and a lot of folks were talking about those 3M Command Hooks. Seemed simple enough, and they wouldn’t damage the wall, which is a plus. I grabbed a pack of the clear ones, figured they’d be less noticeable.
Next up, actually getting the rackets on the hooks. The idea is to hang them by the head, between the center mains. It makes sense when you see it. Keeps them balanced and all that. I used two hooks per racket, spaced them out so the racket would sit nicely.
Then, I placed the rackets on the hooks. I placed the rackets on the hooks between the center mains and hung them on the wall. I needed to make sure the rackets are balanced on the hooks and won’t fall. After I confirmed everything was fine, I stepped back to see what it looked like.
Finally, I made some minor adjustments to the rackets and hooks. I found it was too cold where I placed my rackets, which may cause the racket strings dead. Then, I moved them to a location in my bedroom at room temperature. And, I wanted to display the rackets in a way that’s aesthetic and easily accessible, so I found another location to hang them.
That’s about it. I just hung my tennis rackets on the wall. They’re off the floor, they look pretty cool, and it was a simple project.
