Okay, so the other day I was thinking, who’s the big cheese in the NFL? Like, which team has everyone talking and all that. So I did what any normal person would do – I hit up the internet to find out.
First, I started with a simple Google search. I typed in “most popular NFL team” and boom, a bunch of articles popped up. I skimmed through a few, and it seemed like everyone was talking about how much teams are searched for and how many followers they have on social media like Twitter and Facebook. Makes sense, right? The more followers and searches, the more popular you are.
Digging Deeper into the Data
Next, I went to check out Twitter. I searched for the top teams that were mentioned in the articles, like the Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, and Philadelphia Eagles. I wanted to see those follower counts for myself. And let me tell you, the Cowboys are no joke – they have a ton of followers! I checked out the number of fans on Facebook, over 8 million.
I also stumbled upon some polls from a while back. One from 2014 said the Denver Broncos were “America’s Team.” But things change, you know? It’s clear that the Cowboys are currently seen as America’s Team now, going back to 1978.
