Man, today I just wanted to talk about something that confused the heck out of me when I first started getting into fantasy baseball. I’m a huge baseball fan, but the fantasy side of things was a whole new world. One day, I’m checking the app, and I see “PPD” next to one of my players’ names. I’m like, “What the heck does that even mean?”
So, naturally, I started digging. I scrolled through tons of articles, trying to figure out this mystery acronym. Some talked about “points per dollar”, I guess in those fantasy draft things, but that wasn’t it, because this was during the season. Others hinted at postponements, but didn’t really say it out loud. It felt like I was trying to crack some secret code!

I spent a good chunk of time just reading these super formal definitions. They used all these fancy terms, but finally, I found a few simple explanations. Turns out, it was hiding in plain sight!
What I finally found:
- PPD just means “Postponed”. Like, the game isn’t happening when it was supposed to.
- It’s usually because of bad weather or something unexpected, so they have to play it later.
Honestly, it was such a simple thing, but it took me way too long to figure it out. I realized that fantasy baseball has its own little language, and there are tons of abbreviations like that. I’m still learning all the ins and outs, but at least I won’t be stumped by “PPD” anymore! From now on I will continue to share my experience, please stay tuned!
