Okay, so, tennis elbow, right? Man, it’s been a real pain in the, well, elbow. I’ve been dealing with this on and off for a while now, and let me tell you, it can really mess with your day. I mean, I’m not even a tennis player, but somehow I still got it.
So, I started looking into what I could do about it. First thing I did was to read up a bit online – lots of stuff about exercises and whatnot. But I figured, before I start doing all these stretches, I should probably think about what I’m wearing, you know? Like, maybe there’s something I’m doing with my clothes that’s making it worse.

I went ahead and tried a few things out. Initially, I tried just wearing my usual stuff – t-shirts, sweaters, you know, the regular stuff. But I noticed that when I was wearing tighter sleeves, especially when I was doing stuff around the house, it felt like my elbow was getting more irritated. Didn’t feel good at all.
My Experiment
- First try: I switched to wearing looser shirts. Think big, baggy t-shirts and those loose-fitting long-sleeved shirts. And guess what? It actually helped a bit. Not a miracle cure, but definitely less annoying.
- Second try: I started paying attention to the fabric. Rougher fabrics seemed to bug my skin and, in turn, my elbow. So, I started wearing softer stuff. Cotton, mostly. That made a difference too.
- Next: Then I thought, maybe it’s not just about the sleeves, but also about how much my arm is moving around. I got one of those elbow brace things. It’s kind of like a tight band that you wrap around your forearm. I was reading online that it can take pressure off the inflamed tendon. I put it on following the instructions as best as I could.
- Putting on the brace: This was a bit tricky at first. I had to make sure my arm was clean and dry. Then, I placed the brace just below my elbow, where it felt the most tender. I wrapped it around snugly, but not too tight that it would cut off circulation. Took a few tries to get it right, but I think I got the hang of it.
- Combining them all: I started combining the loose clothes, the soft fabric, and then put the brace on. After doing this consistently, the pain started to subside. It was a lot of trial and error but, well, that’s life!
So, that’s my little story about dealing with tennis elbow. I was pretty surprised that my clothes had some kind of effect, but honestly, the brace, the soft fabric and the loose clothes are the biggest things that have helped. It’s not completely gone, but it’s way better than it was. Just remember to be patient and keep trying different things until you find what works for you. Hope this helps someone out there!
