Okay, so I’ve been wanting to watch the Tennis Channel for ages, but I really didn’t want to get tied down to a traditional cable subscription. Those things are expensive and full of channels I’d never watch! So, I did some digging and experimenting. Here’s what I found out, and what I ended up doing.
First Attempts – The Obvious Stuff
First, I checked the Tennis Channel’s website. Of course, they want you to sign in with your cable provider. Nope. Not what I wanted.

Then, I looked at the big streaming services that everyone talks about. You know, the usual suspects. Some of them had sports packages, but the Tennis Channel was always in some super expensive premium tier. Ugh.
Digging Deeper – Finding the Options
I started searching specifically for “Tennis Channel without cable” and found a few interesting options. It seemed like some live TV streaming services were the way to go. These are services that stream live channels, just like cable, but over the internet.
- Sling TV: I saw this one mentioned a lot. It had a sports add-on that included the Tennis Channel. It looked pretty affordable, so I put it on my list to try.
- DirecTV Stream:I checked this one * it is another option.
- FuboTV:I remembered this is a sports-focused service. Checked out, also have the Tennis Channel.
Testing and Choosing
I decided to take advantage of free trials. I think almost all of these services offer them, which is awesome. Here’s what I did:
- I had try the Sling TV first, because I thought is cheap.
- Then tried DirecTV Stream.
- Tried FuboTV.
I signed up for each service, one at a time.I made notes on the price, the channel lineup (besides just the Tennis Channel), and how easy it was to use. I especially looked at the picture quality and whether I could watch on my TV, my phone, and my laptop.I canceled each trial before I got charged. No point in paying for something I wasn’t going to use, right?
My Decision
After my testing I have choose one of the *’s work fine to me.

It has a good mix of other channels I like. I can easily watch on all my devices, and the streaming quality has been solid. No buffering or anything annoying like that.
So, that’s how I got the Tennis Channel without cable! It took a little bit of research and some trial-and-error, but I’m happy with the result. I’m saving money compared to what I would have paid for cable, and I can finally watch all the tennis I want!
