Okay, so I was watching the game last night, and it got me thinking – how many of those giant, covered stadiums are actually out there in the NFL? I mean, they’re pretty impressive, especially when you consider the weather some of these teams play in. So, I decided to do a little digging.
First, I just started by trying to remember all the domed stadiums I could think of off the top of my head. I came up with a few, like the Superdome in New Orleans, and Ford Field in Detroit, I also thought about the one in Atlanta. But I knew there had to be more.

My Little Research Journey
So I started with a broad Google search – something like “NFL teams with dome stadiums”. This gave me a bunch of articles and lists, but it was a little overwhelming. I found many forum discussions, blog posts, and sports news sites, all talking about the topic in different ways.
Then, I refined my search. I decided to go straight to the source and tried searching something like “list of NFL stadiums” with a filter of “dome” to check all stadiums and find my answers. This got me to the a reliable source.
I started to compile my own list, carefully, going through each team’s information and checking stadium descriptions and images.
- I made sure if it was a dome, truly “domed,” not just a retractable roof.
- I also checking some of the newer stadiums.
After all the digging, checking, cross-referencing, and a bit of back-and-forth, I can confirm what I found. It was a fun little project! I was surprised by some, and then other stadiums, I just totally forgot about!
