Okay, so I’ve got a ton of baseball caps. Seriously, like, a lot. And I needed a way to pack them for a trip without them getting all squished and losing their shape. So, I did some digging and experimenting, and here’s what I figured out.
Gathering My Supplies
First, I needed to get my stuff together. Obviously, I grabbed all my hats. Then, I made sure I had:

- Socks or small, soft clothes: To stuff inside the hats.
- A suitcase or duffel bag: Whatever you’re using for your trip.
- Clothes: Well, duh, I’m packing for a trip!
- Some rubber bands!: Very important to keep the shape.
The Packing Process
Here’s the deal, I started by taking one of my hats and stuffing it. I used a pair of socks, but you could use a t-shirt or something, just as long as it’s soft. You want to fill the crown of the hat so it keeps its shape, but not, like, stretch it out.
And then, I use the rubber bands to roll the brim of the hat, which can make sure the caps not broken.
Next, I laid some of my clothes down in my suitcase to make a soft, flat layer. This is where the hats were gonna live.
I put the first stuffed hat down on the clothes, facing up. Then, I took another hat, stuffed it, and nested it inside the first hat. Basically, you’re stacking the hats inside each other, all facing the same way.

I kept doing this, stacking and stacking, until I ran out of hats. Don’t squish them too tight together, just snug enough so they don’t move around.
Finishing Up
Once all the hats were nested, I used the rest of my clothes to fill in the space around them. This keeps the hats from shifting during travel and also, you know, protects them. I packed everything else around the hats, making sure nothing heavy was going to crush them.
And that’s it! I zipped up my suitcase, and my hats were ready to go. When I got to my destination, they were all in perfect shape. No creases, no dents, just ready to wear. This method worked like a charm for me, so give it a shot!
