Okay, so I wanted to catch some NBA preseason games, but I wasn’t sure how to go about it. I did some digging and figured it out, so I thought I’d share my process, in case any of you are in the same boat.
Figuring Out Where to Watch
First, I needed to find out where these games were even being broadcast. I knew some would probably be on national TV, but I was really curious about the local broadcasts too, you know, to catch my favorite team.

- National TV: First I checked the basic sports channels. It’s pretty much the first place to start.
- League Pass: I’d heard of NBA League Pass, so I looked into that. It seemed like a good option, but a paid one of course.
- Team-Specific Options: I also thought, “Hey, maybe my team’s local station has something?” So I checked their website and found that some games are broadcast there.
My Game Plan(Literally!)
So, I decided to check the actual NBA schedule. I had to write down which games I wanted to watch and where they were playing.
I went with a mix-and-match approach:
- I watched some games that were on regular TV.
- I eventually caved and got the League Pass free trial. More games and also get to try the service.
The Actual Watching
Watching on TV was easy, Just turned it on. Then, for League Pass, I created my account and input some information, it was a pretty standard sign-up process, nothing complicated.
I got to watch some games! It was a bit of trial and error at first, figuring out the best way for me, but now I’ve got a good system down.
It might be different for you depending on your favorite team and what channels you get, but hopefully, this gives you a good starting point!
