Okay, so I’ve been seeing a ton of hype around NBA 2K24, and I finally decided to bite the bullet and grab it. I’ve been a 2K player for years, so I was pretty stoked to see what they changed up this year.
Getting Started
First thing I did was download the game. It’s a beast, file-size-wise. Took a good while to get it all installed on my console. Once it was ready, I jumped straight into a quick play game, just to get a feel for the controls and see how it played.

Gameplay and Graphics
My initial impression? The graphics are insane. Like, seriously, the player models look incredibly realistic, and the courts, the crowds… everything is super detailed. I noticed right away that the player movements felt a bit smoother than last year’s game. Dribbling felt more responsive, and the shooting mechanics seemed a little tweaked.
- Graphics: Top-notch, super realistic.
- Player Movement: Smoother, more fluid.
- Shooting: Feels slightly different, maybe a bit more challenging.
Diving Deeper
After a few quick games, I started exploring the different game modes. I checked out MyCareer, which is always a big draw for me. I won’t spoil anything, but the storyline seems pretty interesting so far. I also spent some time in MyTeam, messing around with building my ultimate squad. There are a bunch of new cards and challenges, which is cool.
My Thoughts So Far
Honestly? It’s good. Really good. I’m still getting used to some of the gameplay changes, and I haven’t even scratched the surface of all the game modes yet, but I’m definitely enjoying it. It feels like a solid upgrade from 2K23. There were also times when the movements didn’t feel as fluid as I would have liked, but that’s the only fault I’ve had, so far.
I’ll keep playing and update you guys as I explore more of the game. But for now, my early verdict is: If you’re a basketball fan, or even just a casual 2K player, 2K24 is worth checking out.
