Now, let me tell ya about this fella, Guenther Steiner. Ya might’ve heard of him if ya watch that Drive to Survive show, where he’s been gettin’ all sorts of attention. But that’s not all there is to know about him. He’s got a wife, Gertraud, and they’ve got a daughter, Greta. They live down in Mooresville, North Carolina, right by that big ol’ Lake Norman. Ain’t it somethin’? Them fancy folks from the big city sure love that place, and it’s got NASCAR folks livin’ there too!
Now, this here Guenther, he’s a motorsport guy. Works with that Haas F1 Team, y’know, with them fancy race cars. But don’t let that fool ya. This fella’s got his roots back in Italy. He comes from a place called South Tyrol, which is all the way up north, right on the edge where Italy meets Austria. He’s a busy man, speakin’ all sorts of languages—Italian, German, and English too. I reckon he does alright for himself. But before all that, he was just a regular fella. His daddy was a butcher, so he had them hard workin’ roots. He didn’t finish up his engineering degree, but he sure got himself in the right place at the right time, didn’t he?

And don’t think I’m forgettin’ about his wife, Gertraud. That woman’s got herself a real good sense of style. She’s a fashion designer, folks. Don’t know if she’s makin’ dresses for the big city folks, but I reckon she’s got a good eye for the finer things. They’ve been together for years now, and they’ve got that young’un, Greta. Little Greta is growin’ up in Mooresville, just like her momma and daddy. Life seems pretty peaceful for them, but I bet it’s a whole lot different than how Guenther grew up back in them hills of South Tyrol.
It wasn’t always easy for ol’ Guenther though. He moved to America back in 2006, tryin’ to make a name for himself in the racing world. Them F1 teams, well, they don’t let just anyone in. But he stuck with it, and sure enough, he became the team principal of Haas F1. People know him now, and I guess he got himself quite the fan base. But don’t let all them fancy suits and race cars fool ya—Guenther’s a down-to-earth kinda guy. He’s spent a lot of time with his family these last few years, what with the COVID and all, just hangin’ out at home with Gertraud and Greta. I reckon that’s the good part of bein’ away from all the hustle and bustle of the race tracks.
Now, you might be wonderin’ what else they do in their free time. Well, when you’re married to a motorsport guy, I guess life ain’t all quiet. But the Steiners, they seem to enjoy their life in North Carolina. It’s peaceful, ya know, away from the race cars and loud engines. But still, they’ve got a little slice of fame now, all thanks to that Drive to Survive show. If you ask me, it’s nice to see a family stick together like that—through all the ups and downs of the racing world. Ain’t every day you see folks like Gertraud and Guenther makin’ it work, livin’ a good life with their daughter Greta by their side.
There’s somethin’ special about that, don’t ya think? They’ve been through a lot, and even with all them fancy cars and interviews, they still find time for each other. Just goes to show, family’s the most important thing in the end. So, if you ever find yourself watchin’ F1 and see ol’ Guenther on the screen, just remember there’s a lot more to him than them fast cars. He’s got a wife who’s talented, a daughter who’s growin’ up in a nice place, and a whole lot of love goin’ around in that little family.
