Alright, so y’all wanna know ’bout that LSU versus Tennessee baseball game, huh? Lemme tell ya, it was a real nail-biter, like watchin’ a pot boil but way more excitin’, sometimes.
First off, them Tennessee fellas, they been doin’ real good this year. Heard they won some kinda big championship, the MCWS thingy. Good for them, I guess. But when they played LSU, well, it wasn’t no walk in the park, that’s for sure.

Now, I ain’t no expert on this baseball stuff, but I know a good game when I see one. One time, I saw a game where the ball went flyin’ so far, it landed right in the middle of ole Jed’s prize-winning petunias. He wasn’t too happy ’bout that, let me tell ya.
Anyways, back to the game. Seems like LSU, they were holdin’ their own pretty good. I heard tell there was a game where they was up 3-0, then Tennessee tried to catch up. But then, bam! This fella Crews, he hits a homer, two runs! Just like that, LSU was up 5-0. Heard tell it was somethin’ to see, ball went flyin’ way out to right field.
But Tennessee, they ain’t no pushovers. They kept fightin’, scratchin’ and clawin’ for every run. I think they even tied the game up once, in the ninth inning or somethin’. Made it real tense, you know? Like waitin’ for the biscuits to finish bakin’ when you’re starvin’.
- One game, LSU was up 2-0, then Tennessee tried to catch up.
- Another game, LSU won 4-3, real close one.
- Then there was that game where LSU was up 5-0, but Tennessee made it close in the end.
Then there was this other game, real close one. LSU was up, then Tennessee tied it, then… well, I don’t rightly remember exactly, but North Carolina beat LSU 4-3. Yeah, North Carolina, not even Tennessee. Baseball is a funny game like that.
Heard tell you could watch the games on somethin’ called ESPN2, or on your phone with that ESPN app thingy. Kids these days with their fancy gadgets! Back in my day, we just listened to the games on the radio, imaginin’ what was happenin’.

One thing’s for sure, these games was always tight. Close scores, lots of excitement. Heard tell one game even went into extra innings. That’s when they play even longer, tryin’ to break that tie. Folks musta been on the edge of their seats, cheerin’ and hollerin’.
I also heard somethin’ ’bout LSU havin’ to keep their season alive. Sounded kinda serious. Guess they had to win or go home. Musta been a lot of pressure on them young fellas. But that’s baseball, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, just gotta keep swingin’.
So, in the end, it sounds like LSU and Tennessee had some real good battles. Wins and losses on both sides, close games, and plenty of excitement. That’s what makes baseball so fun to watch, even if you don’t understand all the rules and fancy plays. It’s just plain excitin’ to see folks tryin’ their best and seein’ who comes out on top that day.
And that’s all I gotta say ‘bout that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my own biscuits. Hope they don’t burn like that one time Jed’s petunias got scorched.
