Well, howdy there, y’all! Let me tell ya, if you’re dreamin’ of shakin’ your pom-poms on that there football field, bein’ a NFL cheerleader ain’t no walk in the park. It takes more than just a pretty face and a loud voice, let me tell you. It’s a whole heap of work, but if you got the grit, you might just make it.
First off, you gotta know what you’re gettin’ yourself into. These NFL cheerleader gals ain’t just standin’ around lookin’ pretty. They’re dancin’, they’re jumpin’, they’re hollerin’ their hearts out, and they gotta be in tip-top shape. I heard tell they practice somethin’ awful, hours and hours a day. Lordy, makes my old bones ache just thinkin’ about it.

Now, every team’s got their own set of rules and what they’re lookin’ for. Some like ‘em tall, some like ‘em short, some like ‘em with a whole lot of sass. But one thing’s for sure, you gotta be able to dance. Not just any ol’ jig, but fancy dancin’, the kind that makes your head spin. And you gotta be fit as a fiddle, strong enough to lift them fellas up in the air, I reckon.
- You gotta be 18 or older, that’s for sure. Ain’t no spring chickens allowed.
- They say most of them gals are around 25 years old, so it seems like a young lady’s game.
- And you best be ready to talk their ears off. They’re gonna wanna know why you wanna be a cheerleader, what you’ve done before, and if you’re willin’ to move wherever the team goes. It’s a big commitment, y’see.
So, how do you get started? Well, first you gotta do your homework. Figure out which team you wanna cheer for and what kind of gals they like. Go watch ‘em, see how they move, how they act. You gotta learn their style, see? Can’t just show up doin’ your own thing.
Then you gotta practice, practice, practice. Dance classes, workin’ out, gettin’ your body in shape. And you gotta practice talkin’, too. Get yourself ready to answer all them questions they’re gonna throw at ya. Talk about your experience, tell ‘em why you’re the best gal for the job. And don’t forget to smile! A pretty smile goes a long way, I always say.
They say there’s gonna be an audition, too. That’s where you show ‘em what you got. You gotta dance your heart out, show ‘em your energy, and prove you can keep up. And then there’s the interview. That’s where they really get to know ya. They’re gonna ask you all sorts of questions, tryin’ to see if you got what it takes to be an NFL cheerleader.
And listen here, there’s some rules, too. You ain’t allowed to be datin’ them football players, no sirree. They want you focused on the cheerin’, not on chasin’ after them fellas. It’s a job, a serious job, and they expect you to treat it like one.

It’s a tough job, don’t get me wrong. Lots of competition, lots of hard work, and lots of rules. But if you got the passion and the drive, and you’re willin’ to put in the time, you might just make your dream come true. Just remember to be yourself, be confident, and be ready to work your tail off. And most importantly, have fun! After all, what’s the point of shakin’ your pom-poms if you ain’t havin’ a good time doin’ it?
So, that’s the long and short of it, y’all. Bein’ an NFL cheerleader ain’t easy, but if you’re determined, you might just have what it takes. Now, go on and chase them dreams, you hear?
