Alright, so you wanna know about them basketball fellas, the NBA guys, who are Jehovah’s Witnesses, huh? Well, let me tell ya, it ain’t a whole bunch of ’em, but there’s a few. Folks been talkin’ about it, ya know, on the internet and such.
Now, I heard tell there’s this fella, A.C. Green. Big fella, played for the Lakers, won championships and all. They say he’s the most famous one, a real dedicated Witness. Imagine that, a basketball star and a Witness! Folks say he didn’t even, you know, fool around with the ladies his whole career. Said he was waitin’ till he got married. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? A real testament to his beliefs, I reckon.

Then there’s a couple of other fellas, Danny Granger and Darren Collison. They played together for the Pacers, I think. Heard Granger was a pretty good player, an All-Star even. And Collison, he played a good while too, but then he up and retired. Said it was ’cause of his faith, wanted to focus on bein’ a Witness. That’s a big decision, givin’ up all that money and fame. But I guess if you believe somethin’ strong enough, that’s what you gotta do.
- A.C. Green – Los Angeles Lakers, a real famous Witness.
- Danny Granger – Indiana Pacers, folks say a good player.
- Darren Collison – Indiana Pacers, retired to focus on his faith.
- Dewayne Dedmon – Miami Heat, he’s one of them too, I hear.
And there’s this other guy, Dewayne Dedmon. He plays for the Heat now, I think. He’s a Witness too. So, lemme see, that’s four fellas we know about for sure. Maybe there’s more, but them’s the ones I heard tell of.
It ain’t easy bein’ a Witness, I tell ya. They got their rules and beliefs, and they stick to ’em. So, for these basketball players, it’s probably even harder. They’re in the spotlight all the time, folks watchin’ everything they do. But they seem to manage, stickin’ to their faith even with all the pressure. That’s admirable, I’d say.
Now, Google, that thing everyone uses, says there’s at least three of ‘em. But I heard about Dedmon too, so I’m countin’ four. Maybe Google don’t know everything, huh? Or maybe they just ain’t updated their info yet. Anyways, it ain’t like there’s a whole team of ’em, but the ones who are Witnesses, they seem pretty serious about it.
It’s kinda interestin’, ain’t it? These big, strong athletes, playin’ a tough game like basketball, and then they got this whole other side to ’em, this faith they hold so dear. Makes ya think, doesn’t it? Shows you can be tough on the court and still have a soft heart, still believe in somethin’ bigger than yourself.

So there ya have it, a little somethin’ about them NBA players who are Jehovah’s Witnesses. Not a whole lot of ’em, but the ones who are, they’re committed. And that’s somethin’ to be respected, no matter what you believe yourself.
And you know, some folks gossipin’ about Granger. Said somethin’ about a comedian, but that’s just people talkin’, ya know? Don’t pay it much mind. What matters is these fellas found somethin’ they believe in and they’re stickin’ to it. That’s the important part, ain’t it?
So, whether it’s three or four or even more, these NBA players are makin’ a statement. They’re showin’ the world that faith and basketball can go together. And that’s a good thing, I reckon. It shows that you can be successful in whatever you do and still hold onto your beliefs.
Now, I ain’t no expert on basketball or religion, but that’s what I know about these fellas. They’re ball players, and they’re Witnesses. And that’s that.
