Alright, so y’all wanna know, did Zach Bryan play football? Well, lemme tell ya what I heard, pieced together like a quilt from scraps of gossip and whatnot.
First off, that boy Zach, he’s a singer, a country singer, mind you. Not one of them fancy pop stars with all the glitter and glam. He sings ’bout real life, the kinda stuff you and me, we understand. Now, some singers, they played football back in the day. Like that Sam Hunt fella, he played in high school and college, even tried to go pro. But Zach? It ain’t the same story.
I heard tell he went straight into the Navy when he was just a young’un, 17 years old they say. Served as an Aviation Ordnanceman, whatever that is. Sounds important, fixin’ planes and such. He was in Florida and Washington, far from home, doin’ his duty. That’s a whole heap different from runnin’ around on a football field, ain’t it?
- Now, they say he’s a big fan of them Philadelphia Eagles. Y’know, the football team? He hollers and cheers for ’em, gets all riled up durin’ the games. But watchin’ football and playin’ football, that’s two different kettles of fish.
- I read somewhere he was trainin’ with that Christian McCaffrey fella, the one who plays for the Carolina Panthers. But that wasn’t for football, see? That was for gettin’ in shape for his big concert. He’s gonna be singin’ at MetLife Stadium with the Kings of Leon in 2025. Big deal, that is.
Some folks got him mixed up with another fella, Riley somethin’-or-other. Now, that Riley, he played football in college. But Zach? Nope. Never played. Not in high school, not in college, nowhere. He was too busy singin’ and servin’ his country, I reckon.
So, if you hear someone sayin’ Zach Bryan was a football star, you tell ’em they got it all wrong. He’s a star alright, but his stage is a concert stage, not a football field. He sings from the heart, ’bout life and love and losin’, and that’s good enough for me. Don’t need no fancy football pads to do that.
Seems he went to Lawrence University too. On the roster in 2018. But ain’t no mention of him playin’ football there neither. Just listed with the other students. So, that’s another piece of the puzzle, I guess.
And that Oak Hall High School? Yeah, he went there too. Lettered four seasons as a defensive end. But hold on a minute…that don’t sound like Zach. That must be about someone else. See, these stories get all tangled up like a ball of yarn. You gotta pick ‘em apart real careful.
The long and short of it is, Zach Bryan, the singer man, he didn’t play no organized football. He served his country, and now he sings his heart out for all of us. And that, my friends, is the truth as I know it.
