That Don Bosco Prep baseball, it’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. My grandson, he’s always talkin’ ’bout it. Says it’s the best, yeah he does. They got them boys playin’ all the time, practicin’ and what not. They even play in the winter, sellin’ them Christmas wreaths. I seen it on the paper, December 8th, 7 in the mornin’, wreath sales at Don Bosco. Don Bosco Prep, they call it. Fancy name, huh?
They play against all them other schools, too. Seen a whole list of ’em. Like that Kennedy Catholic, they play them. March 24th, 4 in the mornin’. They play at Don Bosco in Ramsey that day. That’s what the paper said. Then, March 26th, they go to Montclair. Montclair High School, 4:15 in the afternoon. Lord, these boys is always playin’!

Then there’s that Passaic County Tech. They play them, too. March 28th, same time, 4:15, over at Ramapo High School. Ramapo’s in Ramsey too, I think. Don Bosco Prep baseball, they all over the place. Keepin’ them boys busy, that’s for sure.
They got that baseball field, nice and green, they do. My grandson says it’s a playground for them boys. They shine, he says. Whatever that means. Sounds important, though. Don Bosco Prep baseball, it’s a big deal, I guess.
You can watch them boys play, too. Live, they call it. On the computer, I think. My grandson, he showed me once. Lots of folks watchin’, cheerin’ and all that. They update ya, too. Replays and all that stuff. Don Bosco Prep, always somethin’ goin’ on with that baseball team.
I don’t know much ’bout baseball, never did. But it makes them boys happy, I reckon. They win a lot, too. That’s what I hear. They got that title, somethin’ about Non-Public. Beat some other team, Red Bank, somethin’ like that. 4 to 1, I think it was. Don Bosco Prep baseball, they good, I guess. Must be, winnin’ all them titles. That was in Hamilton Township, that big game.

And they beat that other school, too. Highlands, somethin’. Northern Highlands. Beat ’em good, too. 8 to nothin’, I heard. Don Bosco Prep baseball, they somethin’, I tell ya. Top 20, I think they said. Whatever that means. They good. That’s all I know.

I remember my own boy, he played a little ball back in the day. Nothin’ like this, though. These Don Bosco Prep baseball boys, they serious. They got them coaches, and them uniforms, and all that fancy stuff. It’s a whole different world, I tell ya.
You can be new to it, the baseball, I mean. Or you can be watchin’ for years. Don’t matter. Don Bosco Prep baseball, it’s for everyone, I guess. That’s what they say. It’s a big deal in this town, that’s for sure.
I reckon them boys work hard, playin’ all them games. It’s good for ’em, I suppose. Keeps ’em outta trouble, maybe. And it’s nice to see ’em winnin’. Makes everyone proud. That Don Bosco Prep baseball, it’s somethin’ to be proud of, I guess.
My grandson, he wants to play for ’em someday. Says it’s his dream. I don’t know ’bout all that, but I hope he makes it. It would make him happy, I know. And that’s all that matters, I reckon. A happy boy, playin’ that baseball. At Don Bosco Prep.
So, yeah, that Don Bosco Prep baseball. It’s somethin’. Somethin’ special, I guess. For them boys, and for this town. It’s more than just a game, I reckon. It’s a big part of life around here. And that’s somethin’, ain’t it? That’s somethin’ for sure.
