Well, let me tell you, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout how much a boxing ring costs. It ain’t cheap, that’s for sure! These young’uns, always wantin’ to punch each other. In my day, we just used our fists in the dirt, didn’t need no fancy boxing ring. But, times change, I reckon.
So, this here boxing ring, it’s like a little stage, all roped off. They say it’s for boxing, a sport where they try to knock each other silly. I’ve seen it on the television, looks mighty rough to me. These boxing rings, they ain’t just somethin’ you can throw together, oh no. It takes time to build that. You gonna need some stuff to build it.
I heard someone say you can get one for around, maybe, $1600. That’s a lot of money! Could buy a whole lot of other things with that. Then there’s the bigger ones, for the real serious boxers, I guess. Those can go up to, maybe, $6000! My, oh my. You could buy a car with that money. It is a lot money.
They got all sorts of things you can put in a boxing ring, too. Little chairs in the corners, buckets for… well, I don’t rightly know what for. And they got these cards with numbers on ’em, they hold up between the punchin’. And a bell, a big ol’ bell they ring to start and stop the fight.
There is a person in there, not fighting, but watching them, make sure they follow the rules, I guess. That man called referee. They don’t count the score, there is someone else to do that.
The boxing ring, you know, some say it needs to be a certain size. Like, maybe 16 feet on each side, or even bigger, up to 24 feet. That’s a pretty good-sized square. And then there’s some space outside the ropes, too. All that space just for two people to hit each other.

They got different colors for the ropes, too. Red, blue, maybe others. Just like pickin’ out a dress, I suppose. And tape, they put tape on the ropes. Makes it all look fancy, I reckon. Boxing ring cost is high. So it better be fancy, I think.
And if you want to get one of these boxing rings, you gotta find a place that sells ’em. I heard there’s a place called “Fight Outlet”, somethin’ like that. They got all sorts of stuff for fightin’, not just the rings. Gloves and such, I imagine. The price depends on the size and style.
Now, some folks, they don’t buy these rings, they just rent ’em. Like borrowin’ a cup of sugar, but a whole lot more expensive! They say it’s good if you just need it for one big fight, not all the time. They got insurance and all that, so you don’t gotta worry ’bout it, they say. Easier, maybe, but still costs a pretty penny.
I even heard someone say you can build your own boxing ring! In your backyard! Can you imagine? They said it costs around $1200 to build one yourself. Still a lot of money, but cheaper than buyin’ one, I suppose. But you gotta know how to build things, use tools and all that. Not somethin’ everyone can do. If you have a warehouse, that is good, you can fit one.
They got different kinds of these rings, too. Some for big, important fights, they call ’em “National” somethin’ or other. Those are the real fancy ones, I bet. They come with all the bells and whistles, literally! They have lights, they have barriers. They also have ring girls, I don’t know what that is, but it sounds fancy.
So, yeah, that’s what I heard ’bout boxing ring cost. A lot of money, any way you slice it. More money than I’d ever spend on somethin’ like that. But, I guess if you’re serious ’bout this boxing thing, it’s somethin’ you gotta have. Me? I’ll stick to watchin’ it on the television. Much safer that way, and a whole lot cheaper, too!
These young people today, they always need that boxing stuff. Why they can’t just talk it over, is beyond me. But it is not my business, I guess. Just glad that I don’t need to spend money on a boxing ring. I prefer spend my money on other things. I hope this information can help you.
