Well, I hear tell there’s a big race comin’ up this Sunday. Some fancy NASCAR race. Now, I don’t know much about these things, but I do like watchin’ them cars go round and round. They go so fast, makes my head spin. But who’s that fella who gonna be up front? Who got the pole for Sunday’s race?
Heard some folks talkin’ at the general store the other day. They was sayin’ some fella named Martin, Martin Truex Jr., I reckon, gonna be leadin’ the pack. Seems he’s gonna start from the pole position in that NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race. Sounds important, don’t it?
That Martin fella, he is the pole winner for this race on Sunday. He will start at the front.
And this here Martin, they say it’s his last race. His final start, they called it. I guess he’s gonna hang up his hat, or his helmet, or whatever them drivers wear. Must be gettin’ old, like me. But he’s goin’ out with a bang, startin’ up front in that big ol’ race. Who got the pole for Sunday’s race, you ask? Why, it’s that Martin Truex Jr., that’s who.
Then there’s another one, Joey somethin’. Joey Logano, maybe. He’s one of them Championship 4 drivers, whatever that means. Sounds like a big deal. He’s gonna be right behind Martin, startin’ in second place. He drives that number 22 car, I think I seen it on the TV once. Fast car, that one.

I also heard some other names. Christopher Bell, they said he got the pole in some other race in Las Vegas. Must be a fast driver too. These fellas, they drive so fast, it’s a wonder they don’t fly right off the track.
And this other one, McDowell. He got the pole by goin’ real fast. One hundred and eighty-three somethin’ miles per hour. Can you believe that? That’s faster than a horse runnin’ from a rattlesnake. He got six poles this year. That’s a lot of poles.
Then there is some fella named Bell, Christopher Bell, I reckon. Fast, too, that is him. He did a lap at one hundred seventy-nine something or other. That’s really bookin’ it. He’s gonna start on the front row with some other guy named Gibbs. They’re on the same team, I guess. They gonna be runnin’ side by side.
There was another one, Austin Cindric. They say he won the Daytona 500. That’s a big one, ain’t it? He got the pole position for some race at Auto Club Speedway. That’s a lot of speedways, ain’t it? He must be good too, winnin’ that Daytona 500 and all.
All these names, all these races, it’s all a blur to me. But I do know one thing, who got the pole for Sunday’s race is the question. And the answer is that Martin Truex Jr. fella. He’s the one to watch, I reckon. He’s gonna be out front, leadin’ the charge.
These NASCAR fellas, they’re somethin’ else. Drivin’ them cars around like they got the devil on their tail. I don’t know how they do it. But it sure is fun to watch. I might just have to tune in this Sunday and see that Martin fella start from the pole. It’s gonna be a hoot, I reckon.
I hope that Martin fella wins, since this is his last race and all. Maybe that Joey fella will be nice to him. Then he is really happy. But that pole for Sunday’s race, that for sure belongs to Martin Truex Jr.
Well, that is all I know. I am just an old lady who doesn’t know much about race. I just know what I heard from others. And what I know about who got the pole for Sunday’s race in NASCAR is Martin Truex Jr.
