So, the other day I was messing around with some bets, you know, just trying to figure out this whole sports betting thing. And I came across something called a “moneyline 3 way” in boxing. I’d heard of moneyline bets before, but this “3 way” thing threw me for a loop. I mean, in boxing, there are usually just two fighters, right? So, what’s this third option all about?
I started digging around, reading articles, and watching videos, trying to wrap my head around it. Turns out, a 3-way moneyline bet is just like a regular moneyline bet, where you pick who you think will win, but it adds a third option: a draw. Yeah, a tie! In boxing! I know, it’s not that common, but it does happen sometimes.

So, I decided to give it a shot. I found an upcoming fight and looked at the odds. Let’s say the fighters were Fighter A and Fighter B. The odds looked something like this:
- Fighter A to win: -150
- Fighter B to win: +120
- Draw: +1600
Now, I’m not a huge gambler, so I just put a small amount on Fighter A to win. I figured, he’s the favorite, so it’s a safer bet, right? But then I started thinking, what if it actually ends in a draw? The payout for that was way higher! It got me thinking about the strategy behind these kinds of bets. You really gotta look into the fighters’ past performances, their styles, how they match up against each other. It’s not just about picking who you think is the better fighter; it’s also about considering the possibility of a draw, especially if both fighters are known for being defensive or if they’re pretty evenly matched. And I have to think about the stats, head-to-head games, injuries, etc.
My Experiment
I placed a few more small bets on different fights, trying out all three options just to see how it all worked. It was kinda fun, and I even managed to win a couple of them. One was even a draw bet that paid out pretty nicely!
I realized that this 3-way moneyline thing adds a whole new level to betting on boxing. It’s not just about picking a winner anymore. It makes you think more about the different possibilities, and it can be more rewarding if you’re willing to take a chance on a draw. I’m still learning, but I’m definitely going to keep experimenting with these kinds of bets. Who knows, maybe I’ll get lucky again!
