Now let me tell ya, back in the day, there was this girl named Alison Butler. She weren’t no ordinary girl, nah, she was a cheerleader over at Ohio State University. If you don’t know Ohio State, well, that’s a big school with a lot of football going on. Anyway, Alison was cheerin’ on them Buckeyes, always jumpin’ and shoutin’ on the sidelines, wearin’ her uniform like it was made just for her. Folks always noticed her, but things got real interestin’ when she caught the eye of a fella named Kirk Herbstreit.
Now Kirk, he wasn’t just any ol’ guy neither. He was one of them football players for Ohio State, and not just any player, he was the quarterback! That’s the one who throws the ball, in case you didn’t know. And let me tell ya, he was real good at it too. People would come from all around to see him play, cheerin’ just as hard as Alison was for the team. So, it was kinda like fate, you know? The cheerleader and the football player meetin’ on that big ol’ campus.

How Did They Meet?
Now, folks always wanna know how they got to meet. Well, it was back in their college days, like I said. Kirk was out there makin’ a name for himself, throwin’ them footballs, and Alison was on the side cheerin’ him on. I reckon she wasn’t just cheerin’ for him at first, but soon enough, she probably had her eyes on him. Some people say it was love at first sight, but I figure they just got to talkin’ and one thing led to another. College campuses are big, but when you’re both involved in football like that, it’s bound to happen.
Marriage and Life Together

So, after some time, they ended up gettin’ married in 1998. That’s a long time ago now, but they’re still together, and that’s somethin’ real special if you ask me. These days, Kirk’s known all over the country, what with him bein’ on ESPN talkin’ ‘bout football all the time. He’s been doin’ that for years now, but folks don’t forget he used to be on that field himself, throwin’ them passes. And while Kirk’s been workin’ hard on TV, Alison’s been there by his side, keepin’ things goin’ at home.
They say behind every successful man is a strong woman, and I reckon that’s true for Kirk and Alison. She might not be on TV like him, but she’s been real important in his life. They got a few kids too, four boys if I remember right, and I bet they’re all into sports like their momma and daddy. It’s nice to see a family like that, all stickin’ together over the years.
Life as a Football Family

Now, you might think bein’ married to someone like Kirk Herbstreit would be all glamorous, but I bet it ain’t always that way. Kirk’s got to travel all the time for his job, goin’ to football games all across the country, so I imagine Alison has to hold down the fort at home. That can’t be easy, raisin’ four boys and runnin’ a household, but she’s done it. And when Kirk is home, you know they’re watchin’ football together, talkin’ ‘bout the game like they did back in their Ohio State days.
Alison and Kirk are one of them couples you just know are made for each other. They both love football, they love their family, and they’ve stuck together through thick and thin. I reckon that’s the kind of relationship a lot of folks hope for, but not everyone gets. So, next time you see Kirk on TV, just remember, there’s a lot more to his life than football – there’s Alison, the cheerleader who’s been by his side all these years.
