Well, let me tell you, I wanted to watch them NFL games, you know? My grandson, he set me up with that Peacock thing on the TV. Said I could watch all the games I wanted. But I got to wondering, can you record NFL games on Peacock? I ain’t always home, you see. Sometimes I gotta go to the market, or maybe I’m over at Mildred’s playing cards.
So, I asked that boy of mine, I said, “How do I make sure I don’t miss the game if I’m gone?” He mumbled something about Peacock and recording, or not recording, I don’t know. Kids these days! They talk so fast. Anyway, I did some digging, like looking for potatoes in the garden, you know? And here’s the dirt I found.

Seems like this Peacock thing, it ain’t like that old VCR we used to have. Remember those? You could tape anything on them. This here Peacock, it’s different. They call it “streaming.” It’s like a river, I guess. The show just keeps flowing. You can’t just scoop some out and save it for later, not the way you used to.
- You need a good TV, they call it “smart”. Mine ain’t too smart, but my grandson helps.
- You gotta have that Peacock thing, like a subscription, I think. They got different ones, like them seed catalogs.
- And you need that internet thing, fast one, so they say.
Now, they say you can watch some stuff after it’s already been on. They call it “on-demand,” like ordering from the Sears catalog. But it ain’t the same as recording, not really. If you want to watch the NFL games later, you might be able to, but only if Peacock lets you. It’s like they’re the boss of what you can and can’t keep.
I heard some folks talking about using their phones to record the screen. Like taking a picture of the TV, but a moving picture. My grandson said it might not always work. Peacock, they got ways to stop you, I guess. They don’t want you keeping their shows, not without paying extra, maybe.
Now, there’s another thing called NFL+. It is like a special channel just for football. You gotta pay for that one too. They say you can watch games after they’re done, replays they call it. And you can listen to the games on the radio, even if you ain’t got a TV. Seems like a lot of fuss just to watch some football, don’t it?
This NFL+, you can have it on your phone, on your tablet, like those little portable TVs. And they got different kinds, like when you buy eggs. You can get a dozen, or you can get that big crate. Same with this NFL+, you can get the regular one, or the fancy one with all the extras.

They got something called NFL RedZone too. Now, that sounds exciting, don’t it? I ain’t exactly sure what it is, but it sounds like they show all the best parts of the games, all at once.
- NFL+ is for football, nothing else, they say.
- You can listen to games on your phone.
- Got them replays on NFL+ Premium, fancy stuff.
So, to answer that question, “can you record NFL games on Peacock?” Well, not really. Not like we used to. You can watch some stuff later, maybe, but it ain’t the same. It’s like, you can pick the apples from your tree, but you can’t just make them stay fresh forever. You gotta eat them when they’re ready, or they’ll go bad.
This Peacock and NFL+, it’s all newfangled stuff. Back in my day, we just turned on the TV and watched what was on. If you missed it, you missed it. Maybe they’d show it again later, maybe not. Now, you got all these choices, but it seems more complicated, don’t it?
I guess that’s progress, though. Like going from a horse and buggy to one of them automobiles. Faster, maybe, but a lot more to learn. You gotta keep up with the times, I suppose. Even if all you want to do is watch a little football.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about recording them NFL games on that Peacock. If you figure out any more, you let me know. I’m still trying to learn all this new stuff. It ain’t easy, but I’ll get there. Just like planting a garden, it takes time and patience. And maybe a little help from the grandkids.
