Okay, so I’ve been messing around with these casino chip designs, right? I wanted to make something that looked really high-end, like those fancy 20k chips you see in movies. Here’s how I went about it.
Brainstorming and Gathering Ideas
First, I spent some time just looking at pictures of real casino chips online. I checked out different colors, patterns, and the way the text and numbers were arranged. I wanted to get a feel for what made a chip look expensive and legit.

Designing the Chip
Then, I jumped into my design software. I’m not gonna lie, I’m no pro designer, but I know enough to get by. I started with a basic circle shape and experimented with different background colors. Dark colors like deep blue, burgundy, and black seemed to give that luxurious vibe I was going for.
- I tried out a few different fonts for the “20k” part. Something bold and easy to read was key.
- I played around with adding some subtle patterns, like faint lines or a textured look, to the background to make it more interesting.
- I also considered adding a border around the edge of the chip, maybe with some gold or silver accents.
Adding Details and Tweaking
This was the part where I spent the most time. I kept going back and forth, adjusting the colors, fonts, and patterns until it felt right. I even tried adding a small graphic, like a simplified image of a playing card suit (hearts, diamonds, etc.), but it ended up looking too cluttered. Simple seemed to be better.
The main idea for me was getting the feel of the chip correctly, making sure the color combinations are working, and the typography is on point.
The Final Result (Sort Of)
I ended up with a design that I’m pretty happy with. It’s not perfect, but it definitely looks like a high-value chip. I think the dark background with the bold “20k” in a contrasting color really makes it pop. I’m still thinking about those border accents, though… might add those later.

So yeah, that’s my little project for the day. It was a fun experiment, and I learned a lot about what goes into making a good-looking casino chip. Maybe I’ll try making some other denominations next!
