Well, let me tell ya, this Chris Olave fella, folks been wonderin’ if he’s Mexican or not. Now, I ain’t no expert on all them football folks, but I know one thing or two from lookin’ things up. Now, here’s the thing, his parents ain’t Mexican at all. His daddy, Raul Olave, he’s actually from Cuban descent, so nope, no Mexican there. And his mama, Causha Jones-Olave, she’s American too, but not Mexican either. Folks just get all confused ‘cause he’s got that Spanish-soundin’ last name, Olave, but it don’t mean he’s from Mexico. It’s Cuban roots we’re talkin’ about here.
People like to assume things, but ya gotta get your facts straight. Raul, his daddy, he’s got that Cuban blood, and Chris, well, he’s proud of his family and where they come from. But it’s clear, no Mexican roots in his family, that’s for sure. He’s American through and through, born and raised here, just with some Cuban background on his dad’s side.
Now, let me tell ya more about Chris and his football days. He went to Eastlake High School, which is over in Chula Vista, California. That’s where he started gettin’ real serious about football, playin’ hard and makin’ a name for himself. Then he moved on up to San Marcos High School, kept gettin’ better, and from there, well, the sky’s the limit. That boy can really play!
Folks, it was 2022 when Chris got picked in the NFL Draft, and guess what? He was the only Latino player picked in the first round that year. That’s right, the only one! That’s a big deal, you know? It means he’s really special, standin’ out like that among all them other players. But just so we’re clear, he’s not Mexican. Cuban, yes. Latino, yes. But Mexican, no.
I reckon people just get confused sometimes, especially when a fella’s last name sounds a certain way. But you gotta remember, Latin America’s got all kinds of folks, from Cuba to Mexico to Puerto Rico and all over. Chris, well, he’s got his Cuban roots on his daddy’s side, and that’s what makes him who he is. But one thing’s for sure, he ain’t Mexican.
