Alright, so you wanna watch them Michigan State football games, huh? It ain’t always easy, you know, finding them games on the TV. Things change all the time, channels move around, prices go up… It’s enough to make your head spin! But don’t you worry, I’ll tell ya what I know. I ain’t no fancy expert, mind you, just an old woman who likes to see her boys play.
First off, you gotta figure out what kinda channels you got. You got that cable stuff? Or maybe one of them satellite dishes? Or maybe you’re all fancy and just use the internet now. Whatever it is, that’s where you gotta start.

If you got cable or satellite, you gotta look for the channels that show college football. Used to be simple, now they got a whole bunch of ’em. You got your ESPN, your ESPN2, sometimes even ESPNU, whatever that means. And then there’s ABC, and FOX, and sometimes even CBS. They like to spread them games all over the place, just to make it hard on us old folks, I reckon. You’ll have to check your TV guide, that little book they give ya, or that thing on the TV screen that shows what’s on. Look for “Michigan State” or just “MSU,” and that’ll tell ya when and where the game is.
Now, if you don’t have cable or satellite, things get a bit trickier. But you still got options! A lot of folks these days, they use the internet to watch TV. They call it “streaming,” like a little creek or somethin’. I don’t know much about it, but my grandkids showed me a few things.
- One thing they showed me is something called “Hulu”. I guess they got live TV on there now, and sports too. You gotta pay for it, though, nothin’s free these days. But if you watch a lot of TV, it might be worth it. I hear they even got some of them fancy shows, the ones everyone talks about.
- Then there’s “YouTube TV”. Sounds funny, right? YouTube is for cat videos and silly dances, but apparently they got live TV too! Go figure. My grandson says it’s pretty good for sports, so maybe that’s an option for you.
- And then there’s something called “Sling TV”. It’s cheaper than the others, they tell me, but you don’t get as many channels. But if all you care about is watching the Spartans, then maybe that’s all you need.
- And then there’s “Peacock”! Like the bird, but it’s on your TV. Sometimes they have football games on there. You gotta keep an eye out though, they don’t always have the games we want.
- Oh, and I almost forgot! There’s “Paramount Plus” too. They got all sorts of things on there, movies and shows, and sometimes, yes, sometimes they have the football. It’s another one of them streaming thing-a-ma-jigs. You pay a little bit each month and you get to watch what they got.
And of course, there’s always the official apps and websites. Like that one thing mentioned something about Amazon Originals. My grandson said they got sports sometimes too. So maybe the folks who broadcast the games, like the Big Ten Network or whatever they call it now, they might have their own apps or websites where you can watch the games. You gotta do some digging, though. Go on the internet, on that Google thing, and search for “Michigan State football live stream” or something like that. Just be careful, there’s a lot of junk out there, lots of websites trying to trick you. Stick to the official ones if you can.
Another thing you can do is go to a bar or restaurant. Lots of places, they put the games on the big screen, especially if it’s a big game. Get yourself a burger and a beer and watch with a bunch of other folks. It’s more fun that way sometimes, you know, cheering with everyone else. Though sometimes it gets loud, maybe too loud for these old ears.
And if all else fails, you can always listen to the game on the radio. Yeah, the radio! Remember those things? They still work, believe it or not. Most games are broadcast on the radio, so you can still follow along even if you can’t see it. It ain’t the same, but it’s better than nothing, I reckon.

So there you have it. A few ideas on where to watch Michigan State football. It ain’t rocket science, but it can be a bit confusing. Just gotta do some searching and figuring out what works best for you. And remember, it’s just a game, don’t get too worked up about it. Unless the Spartans are losing, then you got every right to be upset! Go Green! Go White!
