So, I wanted to draw some boxing gloves. It’s something I’ve been meaning to try for a while now, and I finally got around to it. Here’s how it went down.
First off, I grabbed a pencil and a piece of paper. Nothing fancy, just the usual stuff. I started with some really light lines. I mean, barely visible. This was just to get the basic shape down, you know? Like, sketching out where everything was gonna go.

Outline First, Details Later
-
I drew a couple of wonky rectangles for the main part of the gloves. They looked kinda off, but that was okay. It was just a rough outline.
-
Then, I added some curved lines at the top for where the hand goes in. These were a bit tricky, but I just kept erasing and redrawing until they looked somewhat right.
-
Next, I sketched out the thumbs. They were like little sausages attached to the side. I had to redo them a few times to get the angle right. Thumbs are hard, man.
Once I had the basic shape down, I started to refine things. I darkened the lines I wanted to keep and erased the ones I didn’t. This is where it started to actually look like something.
Filling in the Blanks
-
I added some lines to show the padding and the different sections of the gloves. Just some simple stuff, nothing too detailed.
-
Then I drew the laces. These were just a bunch of crisscrossing lines. It was kind of messy, but it got the job done.
After that, I took a step back and looked at the whole thing. It wasn’t perfect, but it definitely looked like a pair of boxing gloves. Not bad for a first try, I guess. I might try shading it later, but for now, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
It is not too difficult. Just try it!
