Okay, so, I gotta tell you about this jersey I messed with. I got this NFL jersey, right? Thing was huge on me, like I was swimming in it. Not a good look. So I thought, “I gotta shrink this thing down a bit.”
First, I went straight to the washing machine. Cranked that thing to the hottest setting and the longest cycle it had. Tossed in some detergent that wouldn’t make the colors run ’cause, you know, didn’t want to ruin it completely. Once the washing was done, I threw the jersey into the dryer. Again, hottest and longest setting. Figured the heat would do the trick.
Checked on it after a while. It shrunk a little, but not enough. Still too big. So, I remembered someone mentioning using an oven to shrink clothes. Sounded crazy, but I was desperate. I preheated the oven to 400 degrees. Put the jersey in there, and let me tell you, I was watching that thing like a hawk. Didn’t want it to go up in flames! Pulled it out after just about a minute.
- Still not quite there.
- So, onto plan C.
- I got a big pot, filled it with water, and brought it to a rolling boil.
- Then I turned off the stove and dunked the jersey in.
Left it there for a good 20 minutes, thinking “this has got to work.”
The Result
Pulled it out, let it cool, and tried it on. Finally! It was fitting much better. Not perfect, but definitely wearable. So, yeah, that’s how I shrunk an NFL jersey. Took a few tries, a bit of risk, but got there in the end. It’s not something I’d recommend doing all the time, but hey, it worked!
