Man, I really wanted to watch that big boxing match tonight, the one everyone’s been talking about. I was thinking of hitting up Buffalo Wild Wings ’cause they usually show all the big games and fights. But I wasn’t sure if they’d have this one on, and I didn’t want to drive all the way there just to find out they weren’t showing it.
So, first thing I did was grab my phone and hit up their website. I figured they’d have some kind of announcement or something if they were playing the fight. I poked around a bit, checked their events page, but found nothing. Not a good sign.
Trying Social Media
Next, I jumped on my favorite social media. I searched for Buffalo Wild Wings, then I added “boxing fight tonight” and “delivery and takeout menu” to my search to see what I could dig up. I scrolled through a bunch of posts, but most of them were just about their food specials and regular games. I did see one post where someone mentioned a “long time sponsors…Buffalo Wild Wings at 64th and McIntyre” but there was no mention of the fight.
- Searched for the fight on their website – nothing.
- Checked their social media pages – still nothing.
Calling the Restaurant
At this point, I was starting to lose hope. I could try some other sports bars, but Buffalo Wild Wings was my first choice. So, I decided to give them a call. I mean, that’s the most direct way to find out, right? I found the number for my local spot and dialed it up.
The phone rang a few times, and then someone picked up. I asked them straight up, “Hey, are you guys showing the boxing match tonight?” There was a bit of a pause, and then the guy on the other end said, “Sorry, man, we’re not showing it tonight.”
Well, there you have it. No fight at Buffalo Wild Wings tonight. It’s a bummer, but at least I didn’t waste a trip. I guess I’ll have to figure something else out. Maybe I’ll see if any of my buddies are watching it, or I’ll just have to catch the highlights later. It’s not the same, but what can you do?
So, that’s my little adventure of trying to find out if Buffalo Wild Wings was showing the fight. No luck this time, but hey, at least I got to practice my detective skills, right? And now I know, for future reference, to always call ahead before heading out to watch a big event at a sports bar.
