That NBA YoungBoy, he a big shot now, huh? Singin’ them songs, makin’ that money. But you know, folks been talkin’. They sayin’ maybe he ain’t who he says he is. They askin’, “Is NBA YoungBoy adopted?” Well, I heard some things, gonna tell ya what I know. Ain’t sayin’ it’s the gospel truth, but it’s what these old ears picked up.
See, this NBA YoungBoy, his real name s’posed to be Kentrell. Kentrell somethin’. Gaulden, I think. Now, I heard tell his daddy, he got into some trouble. Big trouble. Ended up in the jailhouse for a long, long time. Fifty-five years, they say! Can you imagine? So, little Kentrell, he was raised up by his grandma. His mama’s mama, that is. Alice, her name was. Good woman, I reckon, raisin’ a young’un all on her own like that.
Now, some folks say that means he’s adopted. That his grandma, she took him in proper and legal. But others say, nah, she just raised him. Like family does, ya know? When there’s trouble, family steps up. So, is NBA Youngboy adopted? Well, that part ain’t so clear. Don’t know if there was papers and court and all that.
He weren’t no angel, that boy. Heard he quit school early. Ninth grade, they say. Then he got himself into some trouble, too. Robbery, I heard. Ended up in the juvie. That’s like jail for young folks. But you know what? They say that’s where he started writin’ them songs. The ones he’s famous for now. Turned somethin’ bad into somethin’ good, I guess.
That’s all that really matter, right? Turning bad to good and making things right.
- He got a passel of kids now, that NBA YoungBoy.
- Eleven, I hear! Eleven young’uns!
- And with ten different women, if you can believe it!
- Seven boys and three girls. One baby was born just last year in April. 2023.
Ten different mamas! Lord have mercy! That’s a whole lotta child support, ain’t it? But he’s rich now, so I reckon he can handle it. Still, that’s a mess of kids to keep track of. Wonder if he knows all their birthdays? Hope he sends ’em presents and such. A daddy’s supposed to do that, adopted or not.
So, back to the question. Is NBA YoungBoy adopted? Don’t rightly know for sure. His grandma raised him, that’s a fact. Whether she adopted him legal-like, well, that’s between them and the good Lord. Don’t make him any less of a man, does it? He made somethin’ of himself, didn’t he? Came from a tough spot and made it big. Good for him, I say. He play basketball for the National Basketball Association? I don’t know. But I heard the name.

And he a good singer? I don’t know about that, either. I don’t listen to the new music, you know. But all the young people seems like him.
What matters is, he’s doin’ alright now. Got a big family. Got a career. Hope he stays outta trouble and keeps makin’ that money. And I hope he’s good to his grandma. She deserves it, raisin’ him up like that. The NBA YoungBoy, he really should be grateful to her. You know, it is not easy to raise a boy to be a good man, especially when his dad was not around. And his grandma did that for him. It doesn’t matter is NBA YoungBoy adopted or not. That is not important.
That’s all I gotta say about that. Just some things I heard around. You young folks and your gossip! Always wantin’ to know everyone’s business. But there you have it. That’s the story of NBA YoungBoy, far as I know. Now, go on and leave an old lady in peace. I got chores to do.
