Okay, so today’s a special day – it’s Esteban Ocon’s birthday! I thought I’d try to make something cool to celebrate, instead of just posting a regular “Happy Birthday” message. I’m not a graphic designer or anything, but I figured I could play around and see what I could come up with.
First, I scoured the internet for some awesome, high-resolution pictures of Ocon. You know, action shots from races, maybe some candid ones too. It took a little bit of digging, but I finally found a few that I really liked – one of him in his Alpine car, and another of him smiling after a good race.

Getting Started with Images
- Opened my trusty, basic photo editing software. Nothing fancy, just something to crop and adjust colors.
- Imported the pictures I found.
- Played around with the brightness and contrast a bit, just to make the colors pop a little more. I didn’t want anything too drastic, just a little enhancement.
Then came the fun part – I wanted a collage, the pictures should be put toghter. So, I selected the main portrait of him, the one with smile. I carefully cut out the background, so it’s just Ocon, and then I made a new document with a white background.
I pasted Ocon into the new document and resized him so he was pretty big, taking up most of the space. Then, I added the racing picture in the background, making it a bit faded and blurry, so it wouldn’t distract from the main image.
Adding Text and Finishing Touches
- I chose a simple, bold font – something that looked sporty but still readable.
- Wrote “Happy Birthday, Esteban!” in a bright blue color that matched his racing suit.
- Added a little drop shadow to the text to make it stand out a bit.
Finally, I spent a little time just tweaking things. I moved the text around, adjusted the colors a tiny bit more, and just generally made sure everything looked good together. It wasn’t perfect, of course, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out! It’s way more personal than a generic birthday message, and it was fun to make. I posted it to my social media and tagged Ocon, hoping maybe he’d see it. Who knows, maybe he will!
