Well now, let me tell ya about this Jerry Jones and his wife, Eugenia. I reckon a lotta folks have heard of Jerry, the big fella who owns the Dallas Cowboys, but not many know much about his first wife, Gene—well, that’s what they call her, Eugenia Jones. She’s been by his side for a long time, longer than most folks think. They’ve been married since 1963, so that’s well over 60 years now! Ain’t that something? Started out back when they were just youngins, fresh outta school, and now look at ‘em.
Now, Eugenia—she was born way back in 1944, in the good ol’ United States. Her maiden name was Eugenia Chambers. I hear she grew up in Arkansas, which makes sense since she met Jerry while she was still in college over at the University of Arkansas. That’s where their story started. They went on a blind date and hit it off right away. Jerry, bein’ the smooth talker he is, must’ve known right then that she was the one. So, after they both finished school, they tied the knot. Now, I don’t know much about blind dates, but I reckon sometimes they work out better than folks expect.
Gene—Eugenia—ain’t just a regular lady. I mean, sure, she’s married to one of the richest folks around, but she’s got her own story too. I hear she was a beauty queen back in the day. Yep, you heard that right! One of them pretty ladies who would’ve caught a lotta eyes, I bet. But she didn’t just sit around lookin’ pretty. No, ma’am. She’s a woman of substance. She’s always been big on the arts, supportin’ this and that, and showin’ folks how to appreciate the finer things in life.
Now, a lotta folks might think Jerry’s the big star, what with him ownin’ the Dallas Cowboys and all, but I reckon Eugenia’s had a hand in things too. She’s stuck by him through thick and thin, and let me tell ya, there’s been a lotta thick and thin. They’ve raised three children together, and I hear they’ve all turned out fine, all workin’ and doin’ their own thing. And on top of that, they got seven grandbabies to spoil. I’d say that’s a pretty good family, wouldn’t ya?
As for Jerry, well, he’s the one everyone knows. He made his fortune in oil and gas over in Texas. Then, in 1989, he went and bought the Dallas Cowboys for $150 million. Can you believe that? That team’s worth a whole lot more now. Must’ve been a real smart move, huh? I reckon a lotta folks didn’t see that one comin’. But you know, he’s a businessman, through and through, and I’m sure Eugenia’s been there all the way, helping keep things in order.
But, like I said, it ain’t all about Jerry. Eugenia—well, she’s done a lotta work herself. She ain’t just sittin’ around with her feet up. She’s been a fierce advocate for arts and culture, always lookin’ out for that side of things. I reckon she’s got a real soft spot for the finer things in life, just like when she was younger, all dressed up in them beauty pageants. But it’s more than just looks, I tell ya. She’s got the heart for it.
And even though she’s in her 70s now, Eugenia’s still lookin’ mighty fine. I hear people say she don’t look a day over 50! She’s one of them folks who just seems to keep on goin’. I reckon it must be all the love she’s got in her life, from her family to the things she’s passionate about.
Well, I reckon I’ve rambled on enough about these two. I gotta say, they sure do make quite the pair. Jerry’s the big name everyone knows, but don’t forget about Eugenia. She’s been right there with him from the very start, and that’s somethin’ to be proud of. I imagine they’ll keep goin’ strong for many more years, and who knows what else they’ll do next. Ain’t that somethin’ to think about?
