Alright, so you wanna listen to some football on the radio, huh? Them fellas call it “AM radio station for NFL.” Sounds fancy, but it ain’t nothin’ complicated. I’ll tell ya how it is, the way I understand it.
First off, you gotta know what this “AM” stuff is. It’s like, the way the radio talks, ya know? Like how I talk to you with my voice, the radio talks with these waves. AM is one way it talks, FM is another. For football, lots of times it’s on AM. Don’t ask me why, that’s just how them radio fellas do it.

Now, where do you find these football games on the radio? Well, there’s this big company, Westwood One Sports they call it. They’re like the big boss of football on the radio. They got all the big games, Sunday night, Monday night, even the Super Bowl. Them games are the fancy ones, everybody listens to ‘em.
But you know, I like listenin’ to the local fellas too. Them big stations like ESPN and Fox, they talk about all the teams. But the local stations, they know your team. They talk about the players like they know ‘em personally, ya know? Like they’re your neighbors or somethin’. That’s what I like.
And if you can’t get a good signal on your radio, or maybe you’re one of them youngsters always fiddlin’ with their phones and tablets, there’s this thing called “Free Sports Radio”. It’s like… how do I explain it? It takes the radio and puts it on your phone or computer. Handy, I guess, if you’re into that sort of thing.
- Finding the games ain’t hard. Just gotta know where to look. Big games, Westwood One. Local games, find your local station. Simple as that.
- Don’t forget about them college games too. Westwood One, they got them too. NCAA football, they call it. Them young fellas runnin’ around, just as much fun to listen to.
- And if you’re in New York, there’s this WFAN radio, they talk about sports all day and all night. They love their New York teams, let me tell you. Always yappin’ about ‘em.
So, you wanna listen to football on the radio, you got plenty of choices. Just gotta turn that dial, or tap that screen, whatever you young folks do these days. And listen to them fellas talk about football. It ain’t rocket science, just good ol’ fashioned fun.
And listen, don’t get all confused by all them fancy names and numbers. Amplitude Modulation, they call it. Sounds like somethin’ a doctor would say. Just remember AM, that’s where you find your football games mostly. And if you can’t find it there, try FM. Just keep turnin’ that dial until you hear them fellas talkin’ about touchdowns and such.

I remember when I was young, we didn’t have all this fancy stuff. We had one radio, and if you didn’t like what was on, well, tough luck. Now you got a hundred different stations, all talkin’ about different things. It’s a wonder anyone can keep it all straight. But you just focus on finding your football, that’s all that matters.
And don’t go spendin’ a bunch of money on fancy radios or subscriptions neither. Most of this stuff is free, just gotta know where to find it. Them local stations, they’re free. Free Sports Radio, that’s free too. Don’t let nobody tell you you gotta pay an arm and a leg to listen to a football game.
So there you have it. That’s all there is to it. Now go find yourself a game and enjoy it. And don’t forget to tell your friends where you heard it from. Not that I’m lookin’ for any credit, mind you. Just sharin’ what I know, that’s all.
