Hey there, y’all! Wanna watch them Tennessee Vols play football, huh? It ain’t always easy, but lemme tell ya how we do it ’round here. We ain’t got no fancy cable or nothin’, but we always find a way to see our boys play. It’s important, ya know? Football is like… well, it’s like cornbread and butter, can’t live without it!
First off, you gotta know when they’re playin’. That’s the most important thing. They got this thing called a “schedule,” sounds fancy, but it just means when the games are. Sometimes they play on Saturday afternoons, sometimes in the evenin’. Heck, sometimes they even play on them weeknights! You gotta pay attention.

Now, where to watch ’em? That’s the tricky part. If you’re lucky, you got one of them TV things and it’s showin’ the game. They say it’s on ABC sometimes, or one of them other channels. I don’t know much about them, too many letters if you ask me. But if it’s on, that’s the easy way. Just turn on the TV, sit back, and yell at the screen. That’s what my grandson does, bless his heart.
- ABC is a good place to start lookin’. They show a lot of the big games.
- Sometimes other channels have ’em too, like ESPN or somethin’. I can’t keep track of all them names.
But what if you ain’t got cable? Or what if the game ain’t on regular TV? Well, then you gotta get creative. Sometimes the neighbors have it, and you can go over there. Bring some sweet tea and maybe some cookies, and they’ll let you watch. Folks ’round here are mostly friendly, you know.
My nephew, he’s a whiz with that computer thingy. He says you can watch the games on somethin’ called the “internet.” Sounds complicated, but he showed me once. He says there are these “streaming services” that show the games. Again, too many fancy words. But if you got a young’un around, they can probably help you figure it out. He pays for somethin’ called Paramount +, says it shows lots of games, saves him a heap of trouble.
And listen here, sometimes the game is on the radio! Yeah, the radio! You remember those, don’t ya? You can’t see the game, but you can hear the announcers get all excited. And that’s almost as good. Sometimes, I think it’s even better ‘cause you can do other things while you listen. Like cookin’ or cleanin’ or whatever needs doin’. My husband, he used to listen to the games on the radio all the time, sittin’ on the porch, sippin’ lemonade.
Now, they got these things called “smart phones”. My granddaughter has one. She says you can watch the games on that too. It’s a little screen, but she says it works. I don’t know, seems kinda small to me. But these youngsters, they know all the tricks. And speaking of youngsters, the young Vols are always something to watch, that’s for sure!

Another thing to keep in mind is when they’re playing against them rivals. You know, like Vanderbilt. That’s a big game. Always is. They say this year they are playing Vanderbilt at noon on Saturday, that’s the eastern time, whatever that means. They also say it’s on ABC. So, if you can, watch that one. It’s always a good ‘un.
And don’t forget about the scores! My friend Betty, she always keeps track of the scores. She says “Tennessee’s scorin’ and the Tigers, they score 6.2 more points than the Vols give”. I don’t rightly know what that means, but it sounds like the Vols are doin’ alright.
So, there you have it. That’s how you watch them Tennessee Vols play football, even if you ain’t got all the fancy gadgets. You just gotta be resourceful and determined. And most importantly, you gotta love them Vols! ‘Cause they’re our team, and we’re gonna support ’em, no matter what. And don’t forget, the best way to watch is with friends and family, cheerin’ loud and proud! Now go on and get yourself ready for the next game. Go Vols!
Just remember to check the time and channel! That’s the most important part. You don’t wanna miss the kickoff!
