Alright, so you wanna know who got that pole thingy for the NASCAR race today, huh? Let me tell ya, it’s kinda like askin’ who got the biggest pumpkin at the county fair, everyone’s always curious.

Well, from what I heard, it was that fella, Martin Truex Jr.. Yeah, that’s the name. They said he got it at Martinsville Speedway. Sounded like a big deal. They kept sayin’ somethin’ about “Xfinity 500” and a “lap of 19.686”. Don’t ask me what all that means, sounds like fancy talk to me. All I know is he was the fastest, like a rooster chasin’ a hen, I tell ya!
Now, they also mentioned another fella, Kyle Larson. Seems like he’s been pretty speedy too. Heard he’s gonna be leadin’ the pack at another race in Martinsville. These fellas and their racin’, always goin’ in circles faster than a dog chasin’ its tail. They said somethin’ about him leadin’ the field to the “green flag”, whatever that is. Probably means he’s startin’ first, like gettin’ the best spot at the bingo hall.
- So, we got Truex Jr. at that Xfinity 500 thing.
- And then Larson at another Martinsville race.
Then there was talk about some other place, Talladega. Sounded like a mouthful, somethin’ you’d find growin’ in the garden, but they said a fella named Michael McDowell got the pole there. And get this, they said it was his fifth time in a row at a “drafting track”! Must be one of them fancy tracks where they all bunch up like a herd of cows. This McDowell fella must be good at stickin’ close to the others, like a fly on honey.
So, it’s kinda hard to keep track of all these races and who’s winnin’ what. It’s like tryin’ to remember all the names of your grandkids, they just keep comin’! But it sounds like Truex Jr., Larson, and McDowell are the ones to watch. They’re the ones gettin’ those pole thingies, which means they’re startin’ up front.
Honestly, I don’t know much about these races. It sounds dangerous to me, goin’ that fast in them little cars. Reminds me of my old tractor, except way faster and probably a whole lot louder. But folks seem to like watchin’ ’em. Guess it’s like watchin’ a good ol’ fashioned horse race, only with more horsepower and less horse manure.

And that Truex Jr., they said it was his last time racin’ full-time. Guess he’s hangin’ up his racin’ shoes, or whatever they wear in those cars. Maybe he’s tired of goin’ in circles all the time. Can’t say I blame him, I get dizzy just thinkin’ about it. But good for him, gettin’ that pole thingy on his way out. Like winnin’ the pie-eating contest at the church picnic before movin’ to Florida.
So, there ya have it. That’s the lowdown on who got the pole for the NASCAR races, as best as I can understand it. Truex Jr., Larson, and McDowell. Remember those names, or don’t, it ain’t gonna change the price of eggs. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens. They’re probably wonderin’ who got the best spot on the roost tonight.
To sum it all up: Sounds like Martin Truex Jr. got the pole at Martinsville for the Xfinity 500. Kyle Larson also got a pole at Martinsville, and Michael McDowell got the pole at Talladega. That’s a whole lotta pole gettin’ if you ask me!
