Mike Trout, huh? Big deal in this MLB The Show 24 game. My grandson, he’s always yappin’ about it. Says Trout’s got some fancy card, 99 Finest somethin’. Sounds like a good hand in poker, don’t it? But it’s baseball, go figure.
This fella Trout, he’s got more money than I got chickens. Heard someone sayin’ he’s worth a whole heap, millions and millions. Makes ya wonder, all that money for hittin’ a ball with a stick. Back in my day, we did that for fun, didn’t get paid a dime.
- He’s got this big contract, see? Years and years, worth more than the whole town I reckon. Makes him the richest baseball player, or so they say. I don’t keep up with these things much.
- And this game, MLB The Show, it’s got all these cards and numbers. Makes my head spin. My grandson, he knows all about it. Talks about Trout’s stats and quirks and whatever. Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me.
They got these Finest Series cards, and Trout’s is the best, they say. Makes him a real catch in the game. Like catchin’ a big fish, I guess. I like fishin’ better than watchin’ baseball, that’s for sure.
He ain’t never been on the cover of the game, though. Seems odd, considerin’ he’s so good. My grandson says he’s got awards and all, MVP this and Silver Slugger that. Don’t mean much to me, but the boy seems to care.
Then there’s these Out of Position cards. Trout’s got one, apparently. Don’t ask me what it means. They got numbers and ratings and whatnot. Makes my eyes glaze over just lookin’ at it. Too much fuss for a game, if you ask me.
They also got these Topps Now cards. Trout’s got one of those too. Seems like he’s got a card for everythin’. My grandson says they got attributes and quirks and all. I told him, “Boy, life’s got attributes and quirks too, you just gotta deal with it.” He just rolled his eyes at me.
And these Chase Packs? Don’t get me started. More cards, more numbers. They got players like Baez and Shota, whoever they are. I reckon they’re good at hittin’ balls too. But Trout’s the one they talk about the most.
He’s got all these hittin’ attributes, they say. Makes him a real good player in the game. You can see his price and all that too. Makes me think of the price of eggs these days. Everything’s too expensive, if you ask me.
So, this Mike Trout in MLB The Show 24. He’s a big deal, apparently. Lots of cards, lots of numbers, lots of fuss. My grandson, he loves it. Me? I’d rather sit on the porch and watch the birds. But hey, to each their own, right?
