Alright, so you wanna get yourself a job in that there NASCAR, huh? Well, listen up, ’cause it ain’t just about speed, it’s about knowin’ the ropes. This ain’t no farm work, but it sure is a lot of hustle.
First off, you gotta understand this NASCAR thing. It ain’t just the fellers drivin’ the cars, y’know? Those drivers, they’re the shiny apples on the tree, but the whole team’s the orchard, got it? There’s the pit crew, the fellers changin’ tires faster than a blink, and a whole bunch of other folks behind the scenes.

- You got the mechanics, fixin’ things and keepin’ them cars runnin’ smooth.
- You got the engineers, figurin’ out how to make them cars go faster.
- And then there’s all sorts of other folks, like the folks sellin’ tickets, the folks cleanin’ up, even the folks makin’ the snacks. It’s a whole big operation, like a town on wheels.
Now, if you wanna get in, you gotta find what you’re good at. You think you got the muscles to change a tire in ten seconds flat? Maybe you’re good with tools and fixing’ things? Or maybe you’re a smooth talker and good at getting folks excited about the race?
Look, you can find jobs on them internet things. I heard tell of somethin’ called “*” and “*”. They got all sorts of jobs listed, everything from folks workin’ at the track on race day to folks building the cars. I even heard they got volunteer jobs. That’s a good way to get your foot in the door, you know? Show them you’re willin’ to work hard, even if it ain’t for much money at first. Heck, that’s how I learned to bake them pies – started by helpin’ old lady Johnson in her kitchen, just for the learnin’.
And you know what else? I hear tell you might need a license. Like a driver’s license, but for NASCAR. You gotta go to the NASCAR folks or one of them tracks and get yourself one. And everyone on your team needs one too. It’s like gettin’ a permit to sell your eggs at the market, only for racin’.
Don’t go thinkin’ you gonna be a driver right off the bat, though. Most folks, they start somewhere else. Like I said, the pit crew, the mechanics, that’s where a lot of folks get started. You gotta learn the ropes, work your way up. It ain’t different than farmin’ you know? You start by picking beans, and then maybe one day you get to drive the tractor.
And that pit crew job? I hear tell they make some decent money. But you ain’t gettin’ rich overnight. You gotta put in the time and the hard work. Just like plantin’ corn, you gotta tend to it, water it, and wait for it to grow. It’s the same with a career.

So, you wanna get that NASCAR job? You gotta figure out what you’re good at, find them job listings, get yourself a license if you need one, and be willin’ to work hard. It ain’t gonna be easy, but nothin’ worth havin’ ever is. You just gotta put your mind to it, just like I did when I learned to make them award-winning pies!
And remember, even if you start at the bottom, you keep your head up and your hands busy. You never know, one day you might be the one callin’ the shots, or at least the one makin’ sure them cars are runnin’ smooth. And that’s a good thing, a mighty good thing.
So, go on out there and chase that NASCAR dream. Don’t let nobody tell you you can’t do it. You got the grit, I can see it in your eyes. Just remember what I told you, and you’ll be alright. You got this!
One last thing, don’t forget to be nice to folks. You never know who might be able to help you out along the way. A little kindness goes a long way, in racin’ and in life. That’s what my mama always told me, and she was a smart woman.
