Alright, listen up, y’all. Gonna tell ya ’bout this here NASCAR race, when it’s on and what channel it’s on, ya know?
So, first things first, these races, they ain’t always on the same time. It’s like, sometimes they’re in the afternoon, like around 2 or 3 o’clock. Eastern Time, they call it. That’s like, fancy talk for the time back East. But sometimes, they start even later. Heck, I seen some that started near supper time.

And the days? Well, mostly they race on Sundays. Yeah, Sunday’s the big day for racin’. But I reckon sometimes they might race on a Saturday, too. But mostly, it’s Sundays. You get yourself settled in after church and then, boom, the racin’ starts.
Now, where to watch it? That’s the tricky part sometimes. Used to be, you just turned on the TV and there it was. But now, they got all these different channels. One time it’s on one channel, next time it’s on somethin’ else. Drives me batty, I tell ya.
- Sometimes, it’s on NBC. That’s a good one, easy to find.
- Then there’s USA Network. That one shows the races sometimes, too.
- And if you’re up in Canada, they say it’s on TSN. Don’t know nothin’ ’bout that one, myself.
- Oh, and this fella told me once you could watch it on somethin’ called “Fubo.” Said it was like watchin’ on the computer or somethin’. Sounded too complicated for me, though.
- And another fella mentioned The CW for some kinda “Xfinity” race. More racin’, I guess. Hard to keep up with it all.
They got these tracks, too, all over the place. Places like Phoenix Raceway, way out West, I think. And Homestead-Miami Speedway down in Florida, where it’s always hot. And then there’s Martinsville Speedway, that’s a short track, they say. And Watkins Glen International, that one’s got a bunch of turns, not just goin’ around in a circle. And don’t forget Darlington, they race there too. So many places, hard to keep track of ’em all.
And the races themselves? Well, they go on for a while. Sometimes it’s 500 laps, sometimes less. Laps, that’s how many times they go around the track. And they got this thing called a “green flag” that means they’re startin’. And then there’s “playoffs,” too. That’s when they’re gettin’ close to the end of the season, I guess, and things get real serious. And they got a “championship race” at the very end. That’s the big one, where they figure out who’s the best driver of the year.
So, like I said, it ain’t always easy to know when and where the race is gonna be. But if you really wanna watch it, you gotta pay attention. Check the TV guide, or look it up on that internet thing, if you know how. Or just ask someone who knows. That’s what I do sometimes. Just ask my grandson, he knows all about this stuff.

Anyways, that’s the best I can tell ya. NASCAR racin’, it’s a whole thing, ya know? But it can be fun to watch, all them cars goin’ fast and loud. Just gotta figure out when and where to watch it, that’s the hard part.
