Folks been talkin’ about it all around town. I swear, I can’t go to the store without hearin’ someone mention the game.

The way they move the ball, the way they work together, it’s like they been doin’ it for years. And that’s cause they have. A lot of them boys been playin’ since they was little, and it shows. Now, I reckon one of the biggest games this season was when the Bears went up against Union Titans. That was a real nail-biter, but the Bears pulled through and won third place in the 4A state high school tournament. Folks were celebratin’ that one, I can tell ya. That’s somethin’ that don’t happen every day. But the Bears did it, and they did it with style.
And then there was the game against Mount Si Wildcats. Now that one was a tough one, too. The Bears had to fight hard for that win, but in the end, they came out on top with a 51-45 victory. Ain’t no easy feat beatin’ the Wildcats, but the Bears proved they got what it takes to hang with the best of ‘em.
The Fans: A Whole Town Behind ‘Em
Let me tell ya, it ain’t just the players that make the Olympia Bears special. It’s the fans, too. This town loves their basketball team. I mean, you should see the crowd at those games. It’s packed! The bleachers are full, folks are wearin’ their blue and gold, and you can feel the energy in the air. The Bears got a whole community behind ‘em, and that makes a big difference. When you got a crowd cheerin’ you on, it makes you wanna play your hardest.
On senior night, you shoulda seen the boys! It was their last regular home game, and you could feel the excitement in the air. The fans were out there cheerin’, clappin’, and shoutin’ for their team. It’s moments like that that stick with ya. You could tell the boys were proud, and so were the fans. They’re all in this together.
