Alright, so, I’ve been meaning to figure out if I can watch NFL games in glorious 4K on Peacock. It’s football season, and who doesn’t want to see those touchdowns in ultra-high definition, right?
First, I grabbed my laptop and started digging around. Initially, I checked out some providers like DIRECTV since I saw that they offer sports in 4K. It sounded pretty cool, but I wanted to see what Peacock had to offer specifically since I already use it for some shows and movies.

I learned that while DIRECTV boasts about having tons of live sports in 4K, it’s more of a general thing. I then stumbled upon info about NFL+ which is the NFL’s own streaming service. They have this premium plan for about 14.99 bucks a month, which includes NFL RedZone, but again, no mention of 4K streaming.
Next, I looked into YouTube TV because they’ve got a bunch of channels like Fox, NBC, ABC, and ESPN—basically all the channels you need for the NFL season. Plus, they are the place for NFL Sunday Ticket this season! Still, it was not clear if they streamed in 4K on Peacock though.
So, I went straight to the source and did some digging on Peacock’s website. I found out that they do offer some content in 4K Ultra HD to their Premium and Premium Plus subscribers, but only on certain devices.
Then I tried talking to someone at NBC through my friend who works in the media, asking if Peacock would start streaming NFL or Notre Dame games in 4K, especially the home games. He checked for me but only said that it could be broadcasted in 4k, the resources could be brought to those games. This sounds like they might have the capability.
After all that, I found a clear answer in their FAQ section. And guess what? It turns out Peacock does not currently offer NFL games in 4K resolution. They do have some sports events in HD (1080i), but 4K for NFL? Nope, not yet.

So, here’s the deal: If you’re like me and hoping to watch NFL in 4K on Peacock, we’re out of luck for now. It’s a bit of a bummer, but hey, HD is still pretty good. Maybe they’ll upgrade in the future, who knows? Until then, I’ll keep enjoying my games in HD and keep an eye out for any updates.

- Explored YouTube TV for channel availability.
- Investigated Peacock’s 4K offerings.
- Contacted NBC for inside info on potential 4K streaming.
- Confirmed with Peacock’s FAQ that there’s no 4K for NFL games.
And that’s the end of my little adventure. No 4K football on Peacock, but I’m not giving up hope just yet!
