Alright, let’s gab a bit about this here… what’s it called? Oh yeah, the tamron 35mm f1 8 thingamajig. Folks keep talkin’ ’bout it, so I figured, why not chew the fat about it myself? Don’t know much ’bout these fancy camera doohickeys, but I can tell ya what I hear.
Now, this Tamron company, they make all sorts of these lens thingies. Heard they got ’em for them Sony cameras and such. Sony, yeah, they’re a big deal, seems like they got their fingers in every pie. Got places all over, even in them foreign lands like Germany and China, even that place with the funny name, Haryana in India, I think it was. Sony, they even own a chunk of Tamron, like a big slice of the pie, I tell ya.

This 35mm lens, seems like everyone and their grandma wants one. Why? Well, they say it’s good for all sorts of picture takin’. You wanna take a picture of the street? Yep. Big ol’ buildings in the city? Sure thing. Them pretty mountains and trees? Gotcha covered. Even folks just standin’ around, they say it makes ’em look good. It’s like a one-size-fits-all kinda deal, I guess.
And get this, they say it’s a “full frame” lens. Sounds fancy, right? But it ain’t just for them big, fancy cameras. You can stick it on them smaller ones too, and it still works just fine. Balances good, they say. Don’t know what that means, but it sounds important.
Now, there’s other lenses out there, like this Samyang one. People keep jabberin’ on about it. Seems like they’re pretty close, but that Sony one, they say it focuses better, works better, and makes the pictures a bit prettier. Got more “contrast,” whatever that is. But that Samyang, it ain’t all bad, seems like it don’t make the corners of the picture so dark.
- Sony focus better.
- Sony work better.
- Sony picture looks better.
- Samyang less dark corner.
Some folks, they’re stuck between the Tamron and that Samyang, both of ’em with that f2.8 number. Both cheap, they say, so that’s good for us penny-pinchers.
And then there’s that other Sony lens, the FE 35mm F1.8. Someone went and bought it on one of them Black Friday sales, thinkin’ it could take the place of another lens, the Tamron 35-150. Said it might even take better pictures, but I don’t know. Sounds like a lot of money to me.

But this Tamron 35mm f1.8, folks keep sayin’ it’s good, fits the budget, takes pictures faster, focuses fast, and the pictures are sharp and clear. Sharp, like my old butcher knife, that’s what they mean, I reckon.
So, if you’re lookin’ for one of them lenses and don’t wanna break the bank, this Tamron seems like a good bet. That’s what I’m hearin’ anyways. Lots of folks can’t be wrong, can they?
In short, the tamron 35mm f1.8 is cheap, works with Sony cameras, good for lots of different pictures, and takes sharp photos. That’s the long and short of it, as I see it. Now, go on and take some pictures, I gotta go feed the chickens.
