Alright, so you wanna know about them basketball games on Thanksgiving, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t like it used to be. Used to be, you could always count on some kinda game bein’ on TV, but these days, things are different.
I been watchin’ TV for a good long while now, and I can tell ya, they ain’t had no NBA games on Thanksgiving for a spell. A long spell. They say it’s been, what, thirteen, fourteen years now? That’s a whole lotta turkeys ago, let me tell ya.
- No games on Thanksgiving Day, not this year, not last year, not for a buncha years before that.
- They used to have ’em, back in the day. I remember somethin’ about a double-header game a long time back, but that was way back when.
- Don’t nobody really know why they stopped. They just did. Maybe them basketball fellas wanna eat their turkey in peace too, just like the rest of us.
Now, I ain’t no fancy sports expert or nothin’, but I heard tell they had some kinda trouble a while back, somethin’ about a lockout. That’s when them players and the big bosses couldn’t agree on somethin’, and they just stopped playin’ for a bit. Maybe that messed things up for Thanksgiving games, who knows?
Anyways, if you’re lookin’ to watch some basketball on Thanksgiving, you’re gonna be outta luck. You’ll have to find somethin’ else to do. Maybe watch some football? Them football fellas always playin’ on Thanksgiving. Or you could just sit around and talk to your family. That’s what I do most of the time.
I reckon it’s kinda strange though, not havin’ no basketball on Thanksgiving. Seems like a good day for it, you know? Everybody’s home, full of turkey and pie, sittin’ around the TV. But I guess them schedule makers know what they’re doin’. Or maybe they don’t. Who am I to say?
I heard folks sayin’ that the last time they had a game was way back in 2010. That’s when they had two games, back-to-back. But after that, nothin’. Zip, zero, nada. It’s a real shame, if you ask me. Some folks really love their basketball, and it would give ’em somethin’ to watch besides them parades and that dog show.
But hey, what can ya do? It ain’t my decision. I just watch the TV. And if they ain’t puttin’ no basketball on, then I’ll just watch somethin’ else. Or maybe I’ll just take a nap. Nappin’ after a big Thanksgiving dinner is one of life’s greatest pleasures, let me tell ya.
So, the long and short of it is, no, there ain’t no NBA games on Thanksgiving. And there ain’t been for a good long while. If you wanna watch basketball, you’ll have to wait till another day. But don’t let that get you down. There’s still plenty to be thankful for. Like family, friends, good food, and a warm place to sleep. And that’s more important than any basketball game, if you ask me.
And you know, sometimes I think too much TV ain’t good for ya anyways. Maybe it’s a good thing they ain’t got no games on. Gives people a chance to do somethin’ else, somethin’ more… I don’t know… somethin’ more real, ya know? Like talkin’ to each other face to face, instead of starin’ at that darn screen all day.
Anyways, that’s all I know about it. No basketball on Thanksgiving. It’s a fact. Just like the sky is blue and the grass is green. So don’t go lookin’ for it, cause you ain’t gonna find it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my pies. Gotta make sure they ain’t burnin’. Happy Thanksgiving, ya hear?
