Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this car racin’ thing, this NASCAR, you know? Folks wanna know who’s gonna be startin’ first, who’s got that fancy “pole position” they call it. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I can tell ya what I heard.
Now, this past race, I think it was in Phoenix, they said somethin’ ’bout Martin Truex Jr. Yep, that’s the name. They said he was gonna be leadin’ the pack. Good for him, I guess. He’s a fast one, that fella. They also said somethin’ about him retirin’ or somethin’, so maybe he wanted to go out with a bang. Makes sense, I reckon.

And then there’s this other fella, Joey Logano. Heard his name a time or two. They said he was gonna start right behind Martin, second place they called it. That’s pretty good too, I suppose. Close enough to the front to make some noise.
- So, we got Martin Truex Jr. in the front.
- Then Joey Logano right behind him.
But let me tell ya, these races, they ain’t always the same. One week it’s one fella, the next week it’s somebody else. Like that time, they was racin’ in Bristol, at night mind you. Scary racin’ in the dark, if you ask me. But this fella, Alex Bowman, he was the fastest that day. Got that pole position, they said. Good for him, I say. He must be a good driver.
And then there’s Vegas. Oh, that fancy place with all the lights. They race cars there too, you know. This time, it was Christopher Bell who was the fastest. He got the pole, they said. See what I mean? It’s always changin’. Keeps things interestin’, I guess.
So, if you wanna know who’s gonna be in the front for today’s race, well, it depends on where they’re racin’ and who’s feelin’ lucky that day. It ain’t always the same fella, that’s for sure. You gotta pay attention to the news, or listen to the fellas talkin’ ’bout it on the radio. That’s how I hear most of this stuff anyway.
They got these races all over the place, you know. Different tracks, different towns. And each track is different, they say. Some are short and twisty, some are long and fast. Makes a difference, I reckon, how those cars handle. And the drivers, well, they gotta be good at all kinds of tracks, I guess.

And it ain’t just about startin’ in the front, you know. You gotta stay in the front. And that ain’t easy. Lots of other cars tryin’ to pass ya, tryin’ to take your spot. It’s a fight to the finish, they say. And sometimes, things happen. Cars crash, tires blow out, all sorts of things. That’s why you gotta be good and lucky.
So, to sum it all up, finding out who’s got the pole position, the front spot, it ain’t always easy. You gotta pay attention, and even then, it can change. But that’s part of the fun, I guess. Seein’ who’s the fastest, who can outsmart the others, who can make it to the finish line first. It’s excitin’, even for an old lady like me.
Anyways, if you really wanna know who’s got the pole for today’s race you best go look it up on the internet or somethin’. Them fellas online, they know everything, or so they say. Me, I just tell ya what I heard. Now, go on and enjoy the race, y’all! And be careful out there!
