Alright, so you wanna know what radio station that Iowa football game is on, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t always so simple. These things, they change all the time, you know? One game it’s on this one, the next game it’s on somethin’ else. Drives me nuts, I tell ya.
But from what I hear, and mind you, I ain’t no spring chicken so my hearin’ ain’t what it used to be, that KOSY 95.7 FM, that’s the big one. They call it the flagship station, whatever that means. Sounds fancy, I guess. So, if you wanna listen to the Hawkeyes, that’s your best bet. They always seem to have the game on, blastin’ it loud and clear, so loud you can probably hear it all the way out in the cornfields.

Now, if you’re rootin’ for the other team, like them UCLA fellas or Wisconsin, well, that’s a whole different story. Sometimes you can find ’em on that SiriusXM thing. You know, that satellite radio. Fancy stuff, I tell ya. Costs a pretty penny too, from what I hear. They got different channels for different teams. For Wisconsin, they said it was channel 391, and for the home team, Iowa, they on channel 85. See? Complicated! Why can’t they just put it all on one station, I ask ya?
Then there’s that Q107.5. They say they’re the “home for the Hawks” around these parts. Tri-states, they call it. Sounds important. They play the games too, so that’s another one you can check. Always good to have a backup, just in case that KOSY thing goes haywire.
And don’t even get me started on that Cy-Hawk game. That’s the one against Iowa State, them fellas from Ames. That one’s a big deal ‘round here. Everyone and their brother wants to listen to that game. They usually play it on all sorts of stations, but you gotta pay attention ‘cause they announce the time and where to find it beforehand. Heard it was on at 2:30 in the afternoon this last time, over in Ames. Too much fuss if you ask me.
- KOSY 95.7 FM: The main station, the “flagship” they call it.
- SiriusXM: Satellite radio, channel 85 for Iowa, 391 for the other guys like Wisconsin.
- Q107.5: Another good one, they say they’re the “home for the Hawks.”
And then there’s that KRUI. Now that one’s different. It’s one of them college stations, run by the kids over at the university. They play all sorts of stuff, not just the games. Music, news, whatever those young folks are into these days. Sometimes they have the game on, sometimes they don’t. You gotta check their schedule.
So, there you have it. A whole bunch of places you can try to find that darn football game. My advice? Start with that KOSY, and if that don’t work, just start flippin’ through the stations. You’ll find it eventually. Or just ask your neighbor. They probably know more than I do. These young folks, they always got their ears glued to somethin’.

Anyways, I gotta go now. Got chores to do. Can’t be sittin’ here all day talkin’ about radio stations. Just remember what I told ya, and you’ll be fine. Go Hawks!
One last thing, if you’re really desperate, go down to the local bar. They always have the game on, even if they gotta hook up some rabbit ears to the TV. And the beer’s cold too. Can’t beat that, can ya?
Now, get outta here and go find that game! And don’t forget to bring me back some snacks if you go to the store. I’m feelin’ peckish.
