What to bring to NASCAR race? Ay, I ain’t never been good with rememberin’ things, but let me tell ya, goin’ to a race ain’t just showin’ up. You gotta be prepared, or you’ll be wishin’ you stayed home.
First off, you need tickets, don’t be a fool thinkin’ you can just waltz in. And money, ya need money. Things ain’t cheap, and you’ll want somethin’ to eat or drink. Then, findin’ your seat… that’s a whole other story. Them places are big, like real big. You wanna get there early, so you ain’t rushin’. Get there early, ya hear? Two, three hours early, they say. More if it’s a big one. You wanna sit down and look around before all them cars start zoomin’.

Now, what to bring? Sunscreen. You’ll be sittin’ out there all day, and the sun, it’ll burn ya. And a hat. Keeps the sun off your face. And sunglasses, so you ain’t squintin’ all day. Ears, you gotta protect your ears. Them cars, they’re loud. Like real loud. Bring them earplugs, the squishy kind, they work good.
You might wanna bring a cushion, too. Them seats ain’t always comfy, and you’ll be sittin’ a long time. And snacks. They got food there, sure, but it’s expensive. Bring some chips, or a sandwich. Somethin’ to munch on. And water. Gotta stay hydrated. It gets hot out there, and you don’t wanna get all dried up.
And what about the weather? Check it before you go. If it’s gonna rain, bring a poncho or somethin’. You don’t wanna get soaked. And wear comfy shoes. You’ll be walkin’ a lot. Don’t wear them fancy shoes, you’ll regret it.
Now, they got stores there, sellin’ all sorts of stuff. Hats, shirts, little cars… all with them racin’ guys on ’em. If you like that kinda thing, bring extra money. You can spend a lot on that stuff, let me tell ya. It’s like they got magnets in them stores, pullin’ your money right outta your pocket.
Goin’ with friends? That’s good, more fun that way. But keep track of ’em. It’s easy to lose folks in them crowds. And if you’re bringin’ kids, keep a close eye on ’em. Lots of people, lots of noise, they can get scared or lost. Bring somethin’ to keep ’em busy, too. A book or a toy or somethin’.
So, let’s see. Tickets, money, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, earplugs, cushion, snacks, water, poncho, comfy shoes… Did I forget anythin’? Probably. I ain’t gettin’ any younger, my memory ain’t what it used to be. But them’s the basics. Just be prepared, and you’ll have a good time. It’s somethin’ different, ain’t it? All them cars racin’ around… Just remember to bring your patience, too. It’s gonna be busy, and you might have to wait in line for things. But that’s part of it, I guess.
