Alright, so you wanna know when that there car racin’ thing is in Martinsville, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t always easy to keep track of these things. They change ’em around more often than I change my socks, and that ain’t sayin’ much! But I done heard some folks talkin’ down at the market, and I think I got it figured out for ya.
First off, they got different kinds of races, see? Like them truck races, and then the bigger car races. The big one, the one everybody gets all riled up about, that’s the Cup Series. They call it the “Xfinity 500” sometimes, fancy names for somethin’ that’s just cars goin’ round and round in a circle if you ask me.

- Truck racin’ practice and such, that starts around half past noon, central time, whatever that means. I just go by the sun, myself.
- The big race, the Cup Series, that’s on Sunday. They say it kicks off around 1 p.m. central time, but that could be later if them fellas have trouble gettin’ their cars started or somethin’. You know how it is.
Now, where is this race at? Martinsville, they say. Martinsville Speedway, to be exact. It’s one of them short tracks, not one of them big ol’ speedways where they go flyin’ around like bats outta hell. This one’s just a little over half a mile around, so them cars are bunched up tighter than peas in a pod. Makes for some good racin’, I reckon, lots of bumpin’ and grindin’.
They say the race is 500 laps. Five hundred! That’s a whole lotta laps, if you ask me. I get tired just thinkin’ about it. But them fellas, they just keep on goin’, round and round and round. Must be somethin’ in the water they drink, or maybe it’s just the thrill of the chase. Who knows?
Now, if you wanna watch it on that there TV thing, you gotta find NBC. That’s the channel, they say. Or you can use one of them fancy apps, like the NBC Sports app or that FUBO thing. I don’t know nothin’ about them, I just watch it on the TV when my grandson sets it up for me.
This year, they’re talkin’ about the race bein’ on Sunday, November 3rd. But don’t hold me to it, you hear? Things change, like I said. Best to check again closer to the date, just to be sure. You wouldn’t want to miss all them cars goin’ zoom zoom!
And it ain’t just any ol’ race, it’s one of them playoff races. That means them drivers are gonna be pushin’ extra hard, tryin’ to make it to the next round. It’s gonna be a real nail-biter, I bet. So get your snacks ready, find a comfy chair, and settle in for a long afternoon of racin’. It’s gonna be a good one, I can feel it in my bones.

They say this race in Martinsville is the final playoff elimination race. That means some fellas are gonna be happy and some are gonna be goin’ home. It’s all or nothin’ at this point, so you know them drivers are gonna be givin’ it their all. It’s gonna be excitin’, that’s for sure.
So there you have it, best I can tell ya. The big car race in Martinsville, it’s on Sunday, November 3rd, around 1 p.m. central time, on NBC. But like I said, don’t take my word for it. Check them schedules, and make sure you don’t miss it! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about racin’ has made me hungry!
