This here talk is about that NASCAR race, you know, the one in Charlotte, North Carolina. Lots of folks been askin’ when it is, so I’m gonna tell ya what I know. That’s a big deal, that race.
Now, they got this thing called the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Big ol’ track. Been there since, Lord, I don’t know, ’60 or somethin’. They used to race them Fords there. Big cars, loud. Make your ears ring. They got all sorts of races there, not just NASCAR. This time, in 2024, it’s that big NASCAR race everyone’s talkin’ about.
They say the whole thing, all the races they gonna have in 2024, they put that out on October 4th last year. 2023, that was. They got it all planned out. This NASCAR thing, it ain’t just one race, no sir. They got like, 31 of them oval races, 4 of them road course thingies, one on the street, and then 4 more, just for fun, I reckon. That’s a lot of racin’. The NASCAR in Charlotte thing, that’s one of them oval races.
Now, if you’re goin’, you best get there early. This year, they got this big NASCAR race in Charlotte on Sunday, October 13th. That’s the one you wanna see. But the whole shebang starts that Saturday, October 12th. That’s when they do their practice and all that qualifyin’ stuff. They decide who gets to start where in the big race.
- Saturday, October 12th: Practice and Qualifyin’.
- Sunday, October 13th: The big race! Bank of America ROVAL 400. That’s what they call it.
You gotta get there early, I tell ya. Find your seat, get yourself a drink, maybe some of that food they sell. Just sit there and watch all them people. It’s a sight, I tell ya. They say to get there 2-3 hours before the race. I say the earlier, the better, ‘specially for the NASCAR race in Charlotte. That one’s gonna be packed.
They got these parkin’ lots, they open up at 8 in the mornin’ on Sunday. Ticket booths too, if you ain’t got your ticket yet. But you best get your ticket ahead of time, ‘specially for that NASCAR race. They sell out fast, I hear. Charlotte, that’s where it’s at for racin’. That Charlotte Motor Speedway, that’s the place to be.
Now, I heard tell they got some kinda party, a banquet thing, they call it. NASCAR Awards Banquet. That’s gonna be November 21st, over at the Charlotte Convention Center. Probably all fancy, with them drivers and all. Not my kinda thing, but some folks like that. After that, ain’t no more racin’ ’til next year.
They say the next one, the first one of the next year, 2025, is gonna be February 2nd. They call it The Clash at Bowman Gray. Sounds rough, don’t it? That one is in 2025, so you got time to get ready for that.
