Alright, so I’ve been a huge Hokies fan for, like, forever. And every season, I’m always scrambling to figure out the best way to catch the games. This year, I decided to get organized before the season kicked off, so I wouldn’t miss a single snap. Here’s how I went about it:
First, I grabbed my phone and just Googled “VT football schedule.” You know, the basic stuff. That gave me the dates and times, but, most importantly, it told me which networks were broadcasting each game.

Then, I checked my current TV situation. I’ve got a basic cable package, so I made sure I had channels like ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU. those always show up games.
Next, I considered streaming services. Since last time, I found some new services.
- One service that I found got a lot of college football.
- Another one I looked at specialized in sports.
I spent a good hour comparing channel lineups and prices. It’s kinda annoying how many different services there are now! I ended up doing a free trial for one to see the interface.
My Final Game Plan
So, after all that digging, here’s my setup for watching VT football this year:
- Cable: For most of the nationally televised games, my cable package is gonna be my go-to.
- Streaming Service: This will cover if I need to change the TV channel to watch the game.
- Backup Plan: To be honest, sometimes I’ll just go to my buddy’s place. He’s got, like, every sports channel imaginable. Plus, free beer!
I feel pretty good about this setup. I think I’ve covered all my bases, and I’m ready for some Hokie football!
