Alright, so you wanna know who kicked the bucket in NASCAR this week, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t always sunshine and rainbows in that racin’ world. Sometimes, things get real sad, real fast. I ain’t no fancy reporter or nothin’, just tellin’ it like it is, the way I heard it.
Now, this week, I heard tell of Bobby Allison passin’ on. Yeah, that’s right, the one and only. He was a big deal back in the day, winnin’ all sorts of races. Eighty-five of ’em, they say! Been racin’ for near on thirty years, that’s a long time to be goin’ round and round in circles, if you ask me. Poor fella was 86 years old. They didn’t say exactly what got him, just that he’d been ailin’ for a while. It’s a shame, really. He was a legend, they say. Racin’ wasn’t always kind to him, though.

Then there was Bob Labonte, the daddy of them other racin’ fellas, Bobby and Terry. He passed on this week too. His boys put somethin’ on that Twitter thing, you know, the one with all the chirpin’. They were real sad, you could tell. Losing your daddy, well, that ain’t easy, no matter how old you get.
- And let’s not forget about Roy McCauley. Heard he passed on just a little while back, not this very week, but recent enough. The NASCAR folks were all mournin’, real sad-like.
- And that young gal, Ashlea Albertson? Only 24 years young, gone too soon in a car crash. Not racin’ at the time, I don’t think, but still part of that racin’ family, you know? Breaks your heart, it does.
- And remember Cale Yarborough? Three-time champion, tough as nails they said. He died at 84, not this week but earlier this year. A Hall of Fame fella, a real somebody.
- Then there’s Coy Gibbs. Followed in his daddy’s footsteps, racin’ and football, both. He passed on back in 2022. Seemed like a good young man, from what I heard.
- And Adam Petty? Throttle stuck wide open, they say. Hit the wall head-on in practice. Lord, have mercy. That was back in 2000, but it still makes you shiver, thinkin’ about it.
- And Pollex, just 44, passed away last year, another one gone too soon.
So, yeah, losin’ folks is part of life, I reckon. But in that racin’ world, it seems to happen a bit too often. They’re goin’ so fast, pushin’ them cars to the limit. Somethin’ goes wrong, and…well, it ain’t pretty. These folks, they put their lives on the line every time they get behind the wheel. Brave, maybe, or just plain crazy. I ain’t judgin’. Just sayin’ it like it is.
It’s important to remember all these folks. They were part of somethin’ big, somethin’ excitin’. And even though they’re gone, their stories live on. People talkin’ about ‘em, rememberin’ the races they won, the times they crashed, the lives they lived. That’s how it goes, I guess. You live, you race, you die. And hopefully, somebody remembers you when you’re gone.
So, there you have it. That’s the lowdown on who died in the NASCAR world, not just this week, but some others not too long ago too. It ain’t always easy to hear, but it’s the truth. Life’s short, folks. Real short. So, you gotta make the most of it, while you can.
