Okay, so I was watching the NASCAR race today and I was trying to figure out who was in the lead. It got me thinking, how do they even decide who starts at the front? So, I did a little digging.
Turns out, they have this thing called qualifying. It’s like a mini-race before the main event. They did this on Friday, apparently. I went back and found the results to see how things played out.

- Alex Bowman, that’s the guy who snagged the pole position for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Pretty cool, right? He must have been flying around that track.
I also saw something about the NASCAR Playoffs. One guy, Martin Truex, Jr., was leading the pack going into Sunday’s race at Martinsville Speedway. He’s got a good cushion in the points, so he’s probably feeling pretty good. It also mentioned that it was his second-to-last weekend as a full-time driver. I guess he’s getting ready to hang up his helmet soon.
I also found something that mentioned the names of other racers.
- Joey Logano, Tyler Reddick, those are two names that showed up in the NASCAR Championship. It is also a big deal for them.
It’s all pretty interesting when you start looking into it. There’s a lot more to this racing stuff than just driving fast, that’s for sure! I’m no expert, but it was fun to learn a little bit more about how it all works.
