Okay, guys, so the other day I was digging around for some info on NASCAR Heat 5, you know, that racing game? And I stumbled upon this name, Leslie Gomez. I was like, “Who the heck is Leslie Gomez?” So, I did what any curious person would do – I started searching.
First thing I did was fire up the game itself. I went through the menus, checked out the drivers list, and there she was! Leslie Gomez. Turns out, she’s one of the drivers you can pick in the game. Not gonna lie, I was kinda excited to find her because, let’s be real, you don’t see a lot of female drivers in these games.

But I wasn’t satisfied with just that. I wanted to know more. So I went on a little internet adventure. I hit up some forums, watched a few videos about the game’s drivers and their cars. Some folks were talking about all the different drivers and paint schemes in the game, which was pretty cool. Then some were asking if it is better to start from the dirt track or not.
Then I found this tidbit that Leslie Gomez was actually a driver in some special race called the World Race Series: NASCAR Retro Special. And get this, she was driving a dirt late model, the only one in the race! How cool is that? It said she was the only female driver in that race, too. It supports Single-Player Career, Single-Player Races, 40-player online multiplayer, Challenges. This made me even more interested in her character. She’s like a trailblazer in the game, you know?
So yeah, that’s my little story about discovering Leslie Gomez in NASCAR Heat 5. It started with a simple question, “Who is she?” and turned into a mini-research project. I gotta say, it’s pretty awesome that the game includes a driver like her. Makes me want to play the game even more, maybe even try racing as her.
