Alright, guys, let’s talk fantasy football. Specifically, that weekly headache of who to start and who to sit. I’ve been playing for years, and trust me, I’ve made every mistake in the book. So, I’m gonna walk you through my process this week, step-by-step, and hopefully, it helps you out.
My Roster Review
First thing I do every Tuesday morning (after coffee, of course) is look over my team. Who’s injured? Who’s on a bye week? Who’s playing against a brick wall defense?

This week, I immediately saw a couple of problems. One of my top running backs, had an “Questionable” tag next to his name. I love the guy, but I’m not risking a zero.
Diving into the Matchups
Next, I start looking at individual matchups. It’s not just about how good a player is, it’s about who they’re playing against.
- Quarterback: I have two solid QBs. one is playing a team that’s been giving up tons of passing yards, the other is up against a tough defense. Easy choice there, start the first one!
- Running Backs:Aside from the injured starter, my other RB has a decent matchup. He’s a volume guy, gets a lot of carries, so even if he doesn’t break any huge runs, he’ll probably get me a respectable score.
- Wide Receivers: This is where it got tricky. All my receivers had so-so matchups. I had one guy who’s been a little boom-or-bust, he’ll either get you 20 points or 2. I hate that!
Checking the Waiver Wire
After reviewing the matchups i will Check the Waiver Wire,So I took a peek at the waiver wire. And bingo! There was a running back available whose team was playing a super weak defense. His team’s starting RB was out, so this guy was projected to get a ton of touches. I grabbed him immediately.
Making the Tough Decisions
Now came the hard part. Bench my stud RB who might not even play? Start the boom-or-bust receiver and hope for the best?
I went back and forth for a while. Looked at projections, read some expert analysis (which, let’s be honest, is often wrong), and finally, I made my decisions:

- Benched: the injured. It sucked, but it was the smart move.
- Started: the waiver wire RB. High risk, high reward, but I felt good about it.
- Started:For the receiver spot, I ended up going with a guy who’s more consistent, even if he doesn’t have the highest ceiling. I needed some guaranteed points.
The Waiting Game (and Final Tweaks)
Now, it’s all about waiting for Sunday. I’ll keep checking for injury updates, maybe tweak my lineup a bit on Sunday morning based on the latest news. It’s a never-ending process, but that’s part of the fun, right?
So, that’s my process. Every roster is different, so every week is a different puzzle to solve, Hope this helps, I go get a Win this week!
