Well, I tell ya, I been watchin’ that NASCAR thing on the television again. All them cars goin’ round and round. Makes my head spin, it does. But that race in Las Vegas, that was somethin’ else! Who won the nascar race today in las vegas? That boy, what’s his name… Kyle something…he sure can drive!
This race, it was at that Las Vegas place. Fancy, I reckon. Lots of lights and noise. Not like here. We got peace and quiet. And chickens. But them drivers, they like that fast livin’. They go so fast, you can barely see ’em! All them colors, just a blur. They go zoom, zoom, zoom!

That Kyle Larson, he was in the front most of the time. He’s a good one, that one. He won there last time, too, I think. Or maybe it was the time before. My memory ain’t what it used to be. Too many birthdays, you know? But I remember he won. He’s a winner, that Kyle Larson.
That other fella, the one chasin’ him, he was tryin’ real hard. What’s his name now… Tyler somethin’ or other. Red somethin’… He was gettin’ close at the end. Made my heart go pitter-patter, I tell ya! Thought he might catch him. But that Kyle Larson, he held on. He’s tough, like a rusty old nail.
They drive them cars so close together. Gives me the willies! One little bump and they’d all be in a big pileup. Like when my old rooster chased that hen into the fence. Feathers everywhere! But these fellas, they know what they’re doin’, I guess. They get paid a lot of money to do it, too. More money than I’ve ever seen in my whole life!
So, yeah, Kyle Larson won. Again. He’s a good driver. He drives for that Hendrick team. They’re good, too. They win a lot. Like my prize-winning tomatoes, always the best at the county fair. They always win, just like that Kyle Larson.
I like watchin’ them race, even though it makes me a little dizzy. It’s excitin’, you know? Better than watchin’ the paint dry on the barn. And it gives me somethin’ to talk about with Mildred down the road. She likes that NASCAR, too. We sit on the porch and yell at the television. Good times.

These NASCAR races are somethin’ else. Lots of folks watchin’, I reckon. All over the country. Maybe even the world! Imagine that. Little old me, watchin’ the same thing as folks in… I don’t know… China! It’s a small world, ain’t it?
- Kyle Larson won the race.
- It was in Las Vegas.
- He’s a good driver.
- He’s won there before.
- He drives for Hendrick.
- That’s all I remember right now. My head is spinnin’ from all that racin’.
I reckon it’s all about who’s got the fastest car and the bravest driver. And a little bit of luck, too. Like findin’ a four-leaf clover in the field. You gotta be in the right place at the right time. And that Kyle Larson, he sure was in the right place at the right time in Las Vegas. He was in first place when it mattered most!
That other fella, that Tyler with the red name, he was good, too. But not good enough this time. Maybe next time he’ll win. You never know. That’s why they race, I guess. To see who’s the best on that day. And today, in Las Vegas, it was Kyle Larson.
I need to go lay down now. All this talkin’ about racin’ has made me tired. But I’ll be watchin’ next week, you can bet your bottom dollar! Maybe I’ll even bake a pie. A nice apple pie. With apples from my own tree. Just like Kyle Larson, they’re winners, too. The best in Las Vegas, and everywhere! If you wanna know who won the nascar race today in las vegas, just remember that name.
